Overall I agree. Comments only with respect to new coaches.
Positives: Improved tackling (still room improvement) better defensive schemes, nice half time adjustments (Ball State & NIu especially), overall enthusiasm on defense. Recruitment
Weakness: Losing Dishman late truly effected Special Teams, not sure if our current ST coach should handle this going forward.

Agree regarding the second half adjustments on defense the past 2 games; there have been games ( and seasons) where no discernible adjustments were made, so particularly for a shortened season all the way around that is hopeful.
Special teams do seem like we’ve gone backwards though. And may need some help coaching the O line?

Bad luck the past two seasons with interior lineman injuries. I also don't see those guys as leaders as we once had (MAY POY Greg Mancz). We were spoiled.

Pinkel’s teams did a great job of adjusting for the second half. I do think the coach’s should get another year. But Candle needs to go if we do not get a championship next year.

Champions or no champions, I think what has most concerned is the in-game decisions, penalties, clock management. X's and O's. and his lack of acknowledgement is making him seem arrogant, as if "fan base" means nothing to him.
I don't think recruiting or integrity can be disputed. I think he's probably quietly involved with the public because his players are, regardless his post game press conference impression.
Yes there have been OL injuries but development and depth falls into coaching. So if there's failure on the part of the replacements, that's fairly on coaching. Particularly given what he's being paid. He's expected to be better at that depth development. He shouldn't be unaccountable. I realize cause for end of contract termination is not needed but a reputable school would have a reason. I think at this point they fall into the x's and o's, public impressions and player depth and even one good year doesn't change that when you've paid for a few bad already.
Hopefully AD sees this as tough decisions ahead and the toughest decision is not off the table. There are things to consider.

I feel that responses are getting off as this post was titled "New assistants". For sure a new post should start on coaches with greater than 1 year at Toledo. Unfortunately i need to leave and don't have the time that would go into that post at the moment!!

I like the new assistants and the coming out showing of Bradley as our QB. If we can get quality depth on our offensive line I look for a championship next year.

Probably can't judge until they go through a more normal spring, summer and fall. Lets hope that is 2021 at least in the summer and fall. Do like the D improvements at half as others mentioned. Certainly new from the last gang!

Appreciate your opinion but I don't feel responses are off at all. The head coach is in charge of the assistants. If they are or are not an improvement I'm looking to the head coach as the reason. Being this many games into the season and the special teams still doesn't have their head together, making unskilled but more obvious, blatant bone headed plays, that goes on the head coach.
