The game being played here is a big factor for us in my opinion. Not having to travel in December should help us quite a bit. Particularly if we can have some fans. H E L L Y E A!

Going all this time without any reps can lead to serious injuries- hammies, groins, etc. Hopefully the team will not be rusty as hell and timing with the various position groups is not shot.
This has been my concern. We need to get back to practice ASAP and even then I worry about how we perform. Remember it took us a few weeks to get into a rhythm this season on the offensive side so I hope we are prepared and ready.
The CFP is probably out of reach due to these unforeseen issues, but our other goals are still in our control. Conference chip, Undefeated, NY6 Bowl, etc... Let’s finish strong and see where we are and use this to build momentum in the program.
I agree with your comment about building momentum. Win the conference and a NY6, start next year in the top 15, and knock of IU and ND. That's a legit resume there. Unfortunate it takes either 2 undefeated years or a global pandemic to actually get into the convo, but only thing we can do is win
To be fair, we were in the conversation this year. Sure things had to fall just right, but that’s closer than any team has ever been and we may end up ranked 5th at the end, which would be another historic season.
That said, I do agree that it’s sad it seems it takes 2 seasons. RJ Young had a video on that on YouTube saying it’s basically unfair to ask Cincinnati to do it again next year when we don’t ask Alabama, OSU, Clemson, etc... to go undefeated in back to back years to get serious consideration.
I also saw where Joel Klatt was saying that they either have to give the G5 and legit path, or just separate it. I mean that’s not going to help UC as they are always going to want to compete at the highest level but it’s not wrong either. We need a legit path via expansion and more and more people are realizing it.

Sure we do. We ask P5s to do it 2 years in a row.
In 2014, TCU and Baylor were both 11-1. Ohio State was 12-1 in a weak Big Ten season. The only reason Ohio State got the nod over TCU and Baylor was that Ohio State was 24-2 in 2012 and 2013, while TCU was 11-14 and Baylor was 19-7.
Same thing with Clemson this year. Their schedule is much easier than Florida or Texas A&M. They almost lost to a mediocre Boston College team at home. But everyone remembers that Clemson is 29-1 in the last 2 years. So Clemson is ranked #3.

Just let them play.
Stop conflating facts and feelings. Just because non have died does not preclude the possibility that one might.

Ohio State got the nod because they bring in much higher ratings than either TCU or Baylor. They could have been 0-12 the year before.

Have you taken care of anyone that has died from it?

Betting he’s treated as many college football players admitted to the hospital for it as you have.

That’s not the same as going undefeated in back to back years just for a shot. TCU had a path, they lost a game. Everyone points to OSU in 2014, but it seems the committee got that one right considering they won it all that year.
Interesting video from Bryan Cook I found on YouTube. Talks about the Covid outbreak with teammates and some of the symptoms they have experienced. Thought I’d share it here with others who may find it interesting.

We're better off handicapping whether Dewine gives them the go ahead for limited fans a week before Xmas. I give it 50/50 at best unfortunately. I think the B10 isn't allowing them anymore? The Bengals it probably doesn't matter as i doubt they get enough people at this point that anybody worries about it.
Hey gents, I'm setting up a Go Cry Me donation account for the Tulsa fans having a meltdown over on the conference board. I'll post the link info soon...
I know at one point we were one of only 3 programs not to allow fans (Vandy and USF were the others). Think that was before the MAC started up. That was a financial decision by UC, IMO.
Having 5.000 will not be a logistical challenge if UC is willing to spend the money to do it.

Thanks for posting that. Bryan is an impressive young man with a bright future. I like the way he put that together.

Uc is already on board. The hurdle to clear i believe is getting Dewine's approval. Osu cut fans out a few weeks back after cases went up.

If the argument is that there's a .0001% chance a player might die from playing then there shouldn't be football any year, ever. There's a better chance a player will die from a car crash driving to campus. Additionally, the assumption is by not playing, these kids won't get exposed to covid which is laughable because kids are already getting it from just the normal day-to-day activities in their lives.

Yea, it appears he put that together by himself and for a one man project he don’t a great job.
Not sure if there are rules against it or anything, but I’d love for him to keep doing videos like that about his teammates. Even if it wasn’t about Football, but just a way to get to know them off the field better.
