The answer is simple in this case. Someone who did not have the authority to change state election law, changed the election law. That violates the constitution of the state.
Simple as that. If that is truly the case, and it likely is, that states election results could be null and void. Depends on a number of factors.
There. Is. No. Precedent. For. Doing. This.
And there will never be one. In fact, the courts have actually set the precedent the other way, where they do not void election results.

and we’re still waiting for a legitimate claim. Unlike the propaganda war on the internet, legal claims ultimately have to be proven in a court of law. You all still have your conspiracies to cling, and I’m sure they’ll get better as they age, but Joe Biden won the election and will be sworn in 1/20/2021.

I see a lot of meltdowns happening each time another lawsuit gets thrown out.
The key word you used is “claims.” Again, none of these claims of massive widespread fraud are true. If they were, over 50 lawsuits wouldn’t have been thrown out for lack of truth and/or evidence.
Bottom line: Trump couldn’t believe that the majority of the voters this time didn’t want him in office, and tried to de-legitimize the election when it became apparent things weren’t going his way.
He hammered on this throughout the late summer/early fall, so that when he legitimately lost, he knew his followers would cry fraud, because they idolize him to the point that they cannot understand that the majority of people in this country are tired of his antics, and cry that it’s time for civil war because he lost.
Trump’s most ardent supporters have completely removed themselves from anything that speaks against him, so when they’re faced with reality it has to be a deep state conspiracy against them.

1. Thinking your preferred candidate can do wrong is dangerous.
2. Changing the protocols before the election that is unconstitutional in the state is dangerous.
3. Both sides have a point.

My advice which will be ignored I'm sure is circle the wagons and work on Georgia. Have Trump offer up the concession speech.
Alternatively, keep wasting everyone's time on flimsy and poorly prepared lawsuits. And piss off more moderate Republicans in Georgia who knew they didn't vote for Trump to begin with. They'll stay away from voting in January and it will be a 50-50 Senate. Or perhaps Perdue squeaks it out (I think he has a better shot than Loeffler) and it will be 51-49.

You're full of it.
Anybody who can't see what has happened is an idiot or too blinded by their own tribalism. It was not legitimate. Or are all those who witnessed blatant illegality and signed sworn affidavits all lying, at peril of perjury? There were far too many irregularities in this election, most of them occurring in swing states for this to have been clean. Proving it is another matter and far too many judges did not want to have to rule on it so they took the easy way out and found other reasons not to deal with it.
When there are this many coincidences, all benefiting one candidate, they are no longer coincidences. The list of things one has to believe to think that a candidate who didn't even really campaign and couldn't draw flies to his events actually won this election is long. Those who believe them are double digit morons or just low info voters.
Again, lawyers presented their best shot at what they had, and they were thrown out due to lack of evidence or truth. They didn’t have the goods, period.

There were so many claims of fraud because the Trump campaign went out and beat the bushes asking for anyone with a pulse to fill out an affidavit.
Why are there so many bigfoot sightings?
Once they ran out of affidavits they starting making up their own claims with "statisticians". One of the prominent data analysts who made "lists of illegal votes" got wrecked in Georgia when the law makers got to fact check his list and question him and contact the voters on his list.
Quote:When Georgia state Rep. Bee Nguyen (D) reviewed a list of voters who President Trump’s campaign claimed cast illegal ballots in the state, three names caught her eye: two friends and a constituent.
For days, Nguyen pored over public records, spoke with voters by phone and even knocked on doors in person to vet the Trump list. She found that it included dozens of voters who were eligible to vote in Georgia — along with their full names and home addresses.
On Thursday, when a data analyst who compiled the list told a panel of state lawmakers that it proved thousands of voters cast ballots in Georgia who should not have, Nguyen was ready.
“I do want to share with you some of the things that I found that appeared to be incorrect to me,” the two-term lawmaker told Matt Braynard, whose research has been cited in numerous suits filed by Trump and his allies, several of which have been tossed out of the courts.
Nguyen’s 10-minute dissection of the data offered a rare real-time fact check of the unsubstantiated claims of widespread fraud that the president’s allies have promoted in state hearings around the country, largely before friendly Republican audiences.
“If you are going to take the names of voters in the state of Georgia and publish their first, middle and last name, their home address, and accuse them of committing a felony, at the very minimum there should have been an attempt to contact these voters,” she said in an interview after the hearing. “There was no such attempt.”
Braynard said in an email to The Washington Post that he “appreciated her feedback and look forward to getting her records that are questionable. I was happy to make a statement and happy to hear feedback and questions.”AD
The episode shows how quickly the allegations by Trump and his supporters have fallen apart under scrutiny, particularly in the courts, which have consistently rejected assertions that rampant irregularities tainted the vote.

Sure. The entire judicial system is afraid of the left. They have never ruled on anything controversial before. That’s totally it.
Come on, people. That is such a ridiculous take.
It couldn’t just be that Trump lost the election and is trying every avenue possible to get the result changed, and it isn’t working because the system of government we have works....

Or maybe the very experienced legal experts of the Supreme Court (including ACB and other conservative appointees) believe that the constitution does not give them the ability to override States rights to regulate voting or the rights of voters. We talk about judicial overreach on these boards - so that wouldn’t be the exact definition of that?

Counting and recounting fake votes over and over again was never the issue. The issue, at least for me, was nice thorough audit of the signature verification process to see if all these claimed legit mail-in ballots were indeed legitimate. I still find it amazing that it was impossible to even have a court consider such a simple and reasonable request given the volume of mail-in ballots and the improbable results. If such a count came back clean--I think the VAST majority of Americans---and even Republicans---would have a lot more confidence in the validity of the election. The fact there is so much resistance against such a fairly reasonable request tells me that even those defending the election are scared to death that a signature audit wont go well.
