This game then would be a good covid replacement, which is almost sure to happen. Good planning ahead. If DN is corrent, I would imagine (hope, presume) UT made arrangements with some school to drop if needed?

On December 16 there is supposed to be a vote regarding allowing all transfers to play right away--not sitting out this season. The vote could possibly happen before then. This would allow Shumate to play this season. Toledo would then have 10 eligible /healthy scholarship players with Edu injured and Moss sitting out because of grades.

That is correct. By playing in a 3 Game Multi Team Event which Toledo did at Xavier, the NCAA is allowing a maximum of 24 additional games to be played during this 2020-21 COVID shortened season. With Toledo playing 20 MAC Conference games this season, that allows for 4 additional Non Conference games. With the addition of the Michigan, Toledo now has 5 additional non conference games on their schedule (CSU, Mich, UMKC, Mar. and Valpo). It will be interesting to see who gets dropped and whether or not Toledo will have to pay a penalty for breaking a contract.

UT and UM played a lot of games in the 1920s-1940s, so that site misses those.

UMKC is a revenge game, I'd like to get them back. I think our guys will be up for that. Valpo beat Illinois so they are pretty good... If we want to avoid a loss and get our guys confidence going into MAC play I say play Saturday then rest a week before MAC stuff.

Given the contracts we must have signed I would think those negotiations have already taken place.
