The number of non-P5/non-BE teams (33) in the Massey Composite top 100 list is slightly higher than in the past two seasons. The number of non-P5/non-BE teams in the top 50 is similar to the week 1 2018 and 2019 Massey Composite top 50.

Interestingly, by the end of the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, there were twice as many (11, on average) non-P5/non-BE teams in the Massey Composite top 50 at the end of the season than there had been at the beginning of those two seasons.

Northern Iowa doesn’t even own a D1 win yet, but are ranking high. That happened before for them the one year they saw a super-charged Xavier team twice early in the non-conference. RPI was pretty high, like top ten, iirc.
