Yikes if we need to score 50 points to win! Happy holidays to you, and your family!

I've seen too many 4th quarter meltdowns over the last 30+ years. Never comfortable. Lol.
Besides, I'd like to see the back-up QB get some action.

Great sack from Rush. Glad we have him and Jose Ramirez returning next year. We've had to rely on those two a lot this season to get pressure on the QB.

I completely agree! Offense has been dominant, both passing, and throwing! Defense has gotten some pressure, and some sacks! Next season we simply have to get some LB's, only major negative is are run defense! Great win to end this shortened season!

Conservative Creighton once again win, or lose! Let's give them the ball back with 1:20 to go, and down 8!

Glad we held on. That would’ve been probably Creighton’s worst collapse, but a win is a win. We finished the season strong.

We just suck at closing out games. That has to change for next season. This team is so close.

EMU wins and WMU isn't going to Detroit. It's like sweeping doubleheader.

As much as they gave me heart attack at the end, glad to see the defense not give up any monster games and get stop on the final drive.
Clearly we'll have a lethal offense next year. It's a matter of bringing in some talent on D to make us a true competitor in the MAC West.

Yep. We averaged 33 ppg on offense.
Stats will be easy to decipher since the whole season = MAC season.

And to think we were a couple of TDs from being 4-2 or 5-1

I wouldn't even saw TDs, just plays/penalties. If you go back to that Kent State game we had just taken the lead about half way through the 4th, stopped them on a 3rd and long and were about to get the ball back with good field position and tons of momentum...but then the sideline interference on a coach. That doesn't happen I think we win that game.
In the Ball State game there was a penalty on Shine in the fourth that he didn't need to take that kept a drive going for them.
Then CMU....I can't even talk about it

Yes. We could have easily been 4 2, 3 - 3 or 2 4. Very little difference.

I feel like that’s been the case every season, which is what is frustrating about Creighton. Hopefully next season is when we start to pull out those “what if” games. We are very close. Still need some solid reinforcements on defense in the worst way, but I’m more optimistic than I was two weeks ago.

All we need are some quality Juco/DI transfers to help the defense like in 2011 when English brought in Latarrius Thomas, Marlon Pollard, and Justin Cudworth. The offense is going to be the best in the MAC or near the top.

RE: Game Week: NIU - GAME DAY!!!
I would like clean up our celebratory actions when making a good defensive play and tone down the trash talk on the field. I attributed the Quick Lane Bowl debacle with Magill and Glass to Pittsburgh but now I am starting to wonder.
Our DB's seem to be in every receiver's face on an incompletion and quite frankly our DB's are not very good. Myrick made a fabulous 3rd down stop and pulled his helmet off to celebrate. It was problematic because NIU decided to go for it on 4th down and by rule Myrick had to come out for the next down or EMU had to call a timeout, which it did.
I respect the fact that Creighton does not recruit talented athletes that he evaluates as 'bad actors" but I expect the players he has on his team to deport themselves better. Kempton Shine is not Dion Sanders, I expect him to act like it.

Sam, Creighton plays it safe once he has the lead, not unlike Jim Tressel did successfully at Ohio State for many years. Tressel, however, had an absolutely shut down defense that Creighton does not have. NIU scored more points today than they have in any game this truncated season.
Our defense has been found wanting for the past three years, our "signature" wins against Purdue and Illinois occurred on the last play of the game when we did not have to defend the lead.
Do we need better players on defense? Do we need a better D Coordinator? Do we need to coach a better tackling technique? Not sure myself, but we do need to improve the defense or the program will remain static with respect to results.

I think that's a sign of the times. That's how players are nowadays. And I don't think Myrick took his helmet off to celebrate. I think he had an equipment issue. He took it off so quick as if to fix something.

RE: Game Week: NIU - GAME DAY!!!
Great game! Finishing the season on a 2 win streak is big. Their defense proved me wrong and played much better. Still work to do, but much better. Here are my thoughts.....
- Hutchinson did not force the lob balls that he had done in in weeks past. I think he's the best QB we have seen here in a while. He can move and gets the ball to different receivers and is a competitor.
-We need Myrick to come back next yr. Great yr out of him and we will feel the loss the way we did with Jeremiah and Maxx at DE.
-Boone, Evans and Bess are good and young. CC has a lot here.
-The O-line looked good again. Hate to see Donnelon and big Mike leave, but we have major depth here.
-Beydoun, Beydoun, Beydoun. This dude is filling in the void I thought Grissom would fill. He is an absolute playmaker who is not afraid to go across the middle. Four 100 yrd games so far. Teams will have to start keying on him which will open the run game. Who was the last WR we had that garnered defensive attention?
-The announcer on ESPN was BAD. I did like the color comentator.
-If we get some DE's that have bend and can get to the QB and a fee LB's that can fill gaps (you saw what happened today when Speights and Myrick did this) then we should all be expecting great things next year. These are the highest expectations I have seen. Fun to be a fan.
