Of the 16 Seniors only 8 are starters, and 5 of those have said they are coming back. 6 never touched the field.
4 guys have already entered the portal. There's around 30 non scholarship players on the roster right now. There is always a few of those that don't come back each year.
So around the 20ish area seems about right. Which is lower than average for an off-season. The 5 guys that would normally not have the option of coming back would put the number to right about average.
Most important is starters and contributors returning. Of the guys who saw more than a handful of snaps this year, only 3 aren't returning. Bowers, Olsen & Crawford. Everyone else that is graduating, transferring, quitting, etc (so far) you can count their combined snaps on your fingers.
That obviously doesn't take into account any more recruits signing in February or incoming transfers. I know Hammock said in his press conference they would evaluate for transfers after spring ball, and they did already have the WIU FB announce today...but I honestly expect them to be VERY selective about anyone more coming in. Hammock may WANT more, and there might be an interest out there, but Frazier has said repeatedly that financially they need to stay as close to 85 scholarships as possible no matter how many they are "allowed" to have.
