Yea but Cincy will have to lose in order for them to make it and the sun belt championship against Louisiana isn’t a given either.

True i really meant being in contention for one this late in the year. Take care of business and who knows they both currently have wins over 2 ranked teams

RE: Gameday at Coastal Carolina
An interesting path for Coastal Carolina to FBS relevance and media darlings. They played 13 years in FCS and made the playoffs 6 times with a total record of 4-6 and the closest they ever got to a title was 3 wins short.

It still stings how they upset #1 JMU in 2005 In a season opener against the defending national champion Dukes.
Chadwell is a good coach and he was successful at Charleston Southern which might as well be a community college playing FCS football. If you can win there without resources, you can win anywhere.

That was an excellent nip and tuck game; well worth watching.

Any old time Redskin fan will appreciate this analogy. That tackle by Coastal, just short of the goal line, was reminiscent of Ken Houston on Walt Garrison.

The sad part is that when they were FCS I really didn't consider them a peer. I placed them at the level of Towson, not quite an equal. Boy, did they ever pick up steam and left me shaking my head. Additional insult is that they would be on the outside looking in had we said "Yes, we would love an invite to compete in the SB."

When you approach the administration, just leave off the part about how CCU is going to be rewarded for their best season in school history by playing in the Cure Bowl against a Tulsa team that struggled to score points against Navy yesterday.

Rock House Duke...as of this morning you are on a 14 day posting quarantine. You have tested positive for...(pause)...positivity.

known symptoms are but not limited to:
- thinking that JMU can, like former peers...become G5/semi relevant
- hoping that JMU too could crack the FBS top 25 in your lifetime
- saying out loud, JMU could achieve "best football team in VA" status
- asking out loud, why can't JMU schedule an interesting OoC football game?

If any of these symptoms persists, call your doctor ASAP.

If you find yourself hoping and/or thinking that JMU could become relevant in both football and men's basketball, call #911 and go to an emergency room immediately!!!

RE: Gameday at Coastal Carolina
Saw this today:
Coastal's offensive line averages 6-1 and 288 pounds. Short and light, even by FCS standards. Heck, Western Carolina yesterday in their game against UNC was listed at an average of 6'4" 298 lbs. Pretty impressive what Coastal's line has been able to do.

Chanticleer O-Line
LT Antwine Loper: 6-3, 275 pounds
LG: Trey Carter: 6-1, 300 pounds
C: Sam Thompson 5-9, 290 pounds
RG: Willie Lampkin 6-1, 295 pounds
LT: Steven Bedosky 6-2 280 pounds

I heard a pundit say yesterday that the difference in the game was going to be Coastal's teeny O-line against the massive, powerful, and fast Mormon D-line. He predicted BYU would win in a blowout. He was seen this morning eating a crow on the side of the road.

Or you know a very good chance at either the Cotton, fiesta, or peach bowl. Plus have their game trending on twitter and now the entire college football world knows about Coastal from a regular season game. Which will lead to bigger and better recruits which leads to more wins and notoriety. Its crazy how that works isnt it?

That's a hot take, there's a good chance that Tulsa beats Cincy? CCU had a pandemic to dilute the top 25, has a top 15 win, is undefeated, has had the best team in school history and they still need help via another team losing to get into a bowl that anyone cares about.

Line play is all about leverage and Chadwell specifically brought it up in post game when asked. I think they mentioned that 4 of 5 starters were HS wrestlers which makes a ton of sense and wrestling is all about positioning and leverage.

Matt Magerko was a good example

Casually ignoring my second point of a regular season game being the talk of the sports world but ok. How is it a hot take that Cincy loses? BYU was supposed to blow out Coastal last night. Howd that work out?. Tulsa's only loss has been to OK St by 1 score, Cincy has yet to play a P5 school. Spread is currently at 3.5 too but yea gonna be a huge upset if tulsa wins

Explain how you still claim this is a diluted top 25 when every single FBS teams aside from 3 crap teams are playing? What because the OOC games have been canceled? The same OOC games that usually involve 1-2 Fcs schools and one other random school? Coastal beat their scheduled p5 school btw.

And even if they dont make a NY6, I'd still take a nationally television home win over a ranked team over another 11am FCS national championship

How is the top 25 diluted? Covid made it harder for Coastal to crack the top 25 because Coastal does not have the resources the majority of the other top 25 do have...

What should we call posters that will find fault with any achievements earned by a G5 program in a pathetic attempt to defend JMU playing fcs football?

Well, I for one am always glad to see BYU go down, and the fact that they were put there by Coastal Carolina makes it even better. If y'all want to find fault in that, enjoy your sour grapes. We were enjoying it here.
