RE: Stever's thoughts
I watched some of the Georgetown vs. Creighton game and the Hoyas actually looked solid. Unfortunately, no fewer than four key players will gone from this team next season.

I plan to read the article this weekend about how the Cuse, Pitt and BC have struggled in the ACC.

Sorry just seeing this Bill. Not sure if you were able to get around to it, but it's a solid read imo

Darn. Forgot. Just put in the old day planner and will do so tonight and offer some thoughts afterward.

Thanks for the reminder, NLess.

Lol. I didn't think that game was ugly at all. Then again I'm a little biased...

The term rock fight comes to mind.

That UConn vs. Butler game was brutal to watch. Simply terrible. It pained me almost as much as seeing my then-Memphis State Tigers get mauled by UCLA in the national title game in 1973 — a boring blowout.

RE: Stever's thoughts
Marquette added a road game at UNC this week. Can't for the life of me understand the reasoning. Fans can't travel. A young team is in desperate need of sustained success and positivity going into next year. We are way off the bubble. We are expected to lose to them, UConn, Xavier and, possibly again, DePaul. That would be another losing streak to end a season under Wojo.

I fear he has been guaranteed to return next year. That addition does not have any semblance of coaching for a return next year. Even our twitter account added that we will have six consecutive road games, thus planting the seeds for excuses and reasoning for a Wojo/staff return next season.

It's either that, or Wojo knows he is leaving (either for another job or getting dismissed), and he is simply doing this as a favor to Coach K and Duke to get more film and insight for their game on 3/6.

Either way, I will try and enjoy the game on Wednesday, knowing full well MU is not going to another tournament and that next year is likely to be more of the same. Sigh.

Yeah, St. John's isn't quite there yet - but the projections are clearly trending up. Alexander and Champagnie are high-level players. They'll likely lose to Villanova, and will need to win both Providence and Hall, as well as at least two in the BET to be in. That would get them to 18-11. Even then, it might not be enough.

No team should be losing to DePaul this season. If you do, it effectively kills your season.

Idk, I personally was happy about it lol. You guys have pulled off some upsets this year, and last I saw UNC was still considered a "bubble team" (not sure they should be after smacking Louisville around by over 40.)

If you win, you could really help your fellow conference mates on the bubble... Especially since we play you again 04-cheers

Sad to see McDermott step into it. Always liked him. His speech after they had gotten knocked out back in 2014(1st year in Big East) one of my all time favorites. Hope they work it out.

Maybe for a while now McDermott has been so subconsciously (or even knowingly) apprehensive about saying something racially insensitive — fearing for how bad it would be if it happened and knowing it would be completely out of character — and then he gets impassioned in the locker room and ... boom — the "plantation" remark via an almost Tourette syndrome-type utterance. I don't know. I'm just guessing.

The whole thing is very unfortunately. He seemed to apologize with sincerity.

RE: Stever's thoughts
Reading that McDermott gave the option of him coaching the team again onto the players, which they all supported. If true, that is incredibly powerful. Literally gave his career to those who he coaches.
