Truly unbelievable. How can we be taken seriously as a conference?
Please refrain from future outbursts of sacrilege as expressed above.
To remind: College leaders have meticulously planned and crafted the marvel of athletic competition that is today's CAA. Its present wonderfulness is not the result of happenstance.
To summarize:
The CAA is the SEC of FCS. As often as once per year the JMU football team travels to Frisco, Texas, to participate in a game that rivals the Super Bowl and captures national attention from Harrisonburg, Virginia, to Fargo, North Dakota.
The CAA makes possible March Madness at large bids and seeding that other leagues can only dream about.
The travel cost savings associated with the tight geographic footprint of the CAA are apparent to anyone who looks at a map.
No other league could ever provide the opportunity to compete against academic peer institutions as is possible in the CAA.
Academic competition with the likes of Hofstra, Northeastern, New Hampshire, Maine, Drexel and Stony Brook results in immeasurable applications, enrollment, alumni interest, and donations that would be impossible with a different conference affiliation.
Most important, however, is that as an essentially charter, founding member of the CAA, Tribe Athletics receives the utmost respect and deference from the league office with respect to scheduling and competition. The white glove treatment W&M receives could never occur in a different conference.
FloSports is only the icing on the cake.
