Apparently UC & BYU were going to play until UC's COVID issues
In an SI article about how the BYU-Coastal Carolina matchup came about there was this little nugget included:
"Meanwhile in Provo, BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe had struck out on scheduling an opponent to fill this off weekend (that includes a potential unreported game with undefeated Cincinnati that was nixed because of the Bearcats’ COVID problems). But then, on Wednesday morning, Holmoe got a tip that Coastal could be available."

I know both programs would've had something to lose by playing that game, but it would've been an epic matchup and I'm happy to hear that both UC & BYU were reportedly willing to play the game. Though it does suck that we won't get to see it.

I have a sinking feeling that it may happen anyway.

Not heard anything of the sort on our end. Sorry BYU but that is the advantage of being in a CONFERENCE. We have another game remaining and a conference chip to tend to. We're just fine. Best of luck next season.
