The Golden Flashes are scheduled to hit the road and take on the nationally ranked Cavaliers on Friday December 4th. Tip off from Charlottesville is scheduled for 6pm. The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.

I do not want to make this whole basketball season about Covid, because goodness knows I would love to sit on my couch, pour a stiff one or five and watch some KSU Hoops. But if Ohio is on travel advisory lists, how in the world are the logistics worked out for schools like KSU to travel south of the Mason Dixon, play ball and return.

God love the people who are trying to make this work.

Two word answer: Covid Testing. Before and after every game. Min 3-times a week for most D1 teams from what I'm hearing.

Can’t keep missing easy layups or keep playing lazy by leaving shooters wide open on D and not going to the boards on O. It’s 29-22 at the half.

This “social distancing” on the bench is beyond ridiculous. These guys are banging bodies and swapping sweat in practice, rooming together, sitting next to other while traveling (bus, plane, van) and huddling up tight in a huddle during timeouts, but let’s spread the bench players and coaches over a 40’ x 20’ space from each other and then take the floor and post up a total stranger.

Hanging in there 45-43, Pippen just drilled a 3 and next time down court was called for a bogus offensive foul, his 4th so now he’s out.

And another ticky tack foul. The home cooking is working even without a crowd. They’ve called twice as many fouls (16-8) on us while they’ve gone to the line 11 times to our 2.

It’s all to make people feel good. I’m sure staying 6 feet apart, wearing a mask and washing your hands would work it’s just tough for 8 billion people to do it 100% of the time. It didn’t work for the Black Plague, the 1918 influenza and it’s not working now. It’s either a vaccine or herd immunity. These viruses are tough. At least we are playing Virginia tough.

That was a very nice flop. Bastards.

Pippen gets fouled on the bucket and no call, right back down and a flop gets Santiago fouled out. Damn are these calls weak.

Well at least they just called a weak one on UVA but has no bearing on the play. And then hit on the drive and no call. Can’t win!

Damn! Clutch bucket by Pippen at the buzzer! We have foul trouble though so it’ll be a tough one in OT. If I’m UVA I go right at Pippen and get him fouled out and then Jacobs and Hamilton also have 4 fouls.

Down by 6 with under 25 and you drive for 2? Take the 3!

Happy with how we looked for the most part. Didn't expect to have a shot against Virginia without Pippen playing well (5-16 with 4 TOs). Honestly probably should've won though. Couldn't stop fouling. The 25-13 foul differential and 30-6 free throws attempted edge saved Virginia tonight. Out rebounding them is something to be proud of.

Didn’t get any quality shots off down the stretch, and the refs weren’t going to calls fouls on any of those drives. Oh well, they competed hard but the foul situation doomed them. I hate when people complain about officiating but here I find myself doing it in this thread. But we had 4 guys foul out and they had 1 guy with more than 2 fouls?! They went to the line 30 times off ticky tack calls, we went 6 times despite a lot of contact on quite a few drives.

I’ve seen this game so many times. Underdog battles top ranked team. Underdog looks like it has a good chance to win with 2 to 6 minutes left. Underdog loses a close one. It happens all the time (not just Kent). It’s weird the teams change, the players change but the results are pretty much the same. I am beginning to hate sports!!!

We played our asses off last night. Rob and this team represented well. Think about how much better we can get once VC Davis is ready to go. Hope the MAC isn't sleeping on this team.
