WAC Team KenPom Update
6 teams with winning records (early on but still a great sign)
3 teams are undefeated (Dixie GCU NMSU)

The only real shockers are that CBU couldn't get past SE Louisiana and UVU did just enough to hold on to beat Westminster.

KenPom to date

NMSU 104
GCU 161
UTRGV 224
SU 279
CBU 288
UVU 294
DSU 320
TSU 333
CSU 355

First order of business is to get out of those 300 rankings. With Dixie and Tarleton being new to the conference (and D1), they are going to need a little time to show what they are capable of. Chicago St has been in the 300's for the past few years if I recall correctly.

GO AGGIES!!!!

There is no real reason why CBU SU UVU should be near the 300's. They should be no lower than 250's. Chicago St I don't think has ever been higher than 320 ever since KenPom has been around.

At this time of year the ratings are still heavily weighted toward the initial preseason ratings, right? Is is true that once all the teams are connected, Tarleton and Dixie should snap to much higher ratings, if for no other reason than strength of schedule?

I actually thought that CSU had a chance to win some games this year. But with Irvin sitting out the season. They seem to be unable to get a break

That's not setting the bar very high. We need more teams in the 100's. Ideally, we need 2-3 teams sub-100.

Need consistency and with some of these schools now trying to challenge themselves in OOC you might see 2 or 3 hover around 90-110. Going to need the middle tier to win their crappy schedule games and not get blown out on the regular.

True, but I did say FIRST order of business. 04-cheers

We definitely need everyone to move up the rankings, but playing teams ranked in the 300’s really affects everyone’s rankings.

True, I think you have to start by winning all the games you should win, then start picking off games that are toss ups.

There probably aren't many games 2/3 of the WAC who are ranked in the bottom 1/3 of college basketball "should" win, tbh. If even half of those teams can outperform expectations even by a little, we "should" be in "picking off games that are toss ups" territory with relative ease.

RE: WAC Team KenPom Update
Looking at the WAC teams rankings makes my eyes bleed. I hope its true the rumors about the teams joining the WAC because just about every one of them has better rankings than all the teams in the WAC with the exception of Big Daddy NMSU.
