MAC took a thumping last night. CMU lost by 20 to a school I've never heard of before, Flagler College. NiU took a 20 pt beating by another state directional school, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE).

Flagler played FIU pretty close,losing by seven. Still, no excuse for CMU. Eleven frosh or sophs on Flagler’s roster. Wonder if they travel by rail?

Flagler is in St Augustine, FL. Pretty campus.

Its fun seeing NIU sports suck mainly because some of their fans are ********.

In the grand scheme of things and conference stature, we (the MAC) should not be losing to teams like Flagler. I consider our narrow losses to Bradley and Xavier, both recent NCAA teams to be a win for us comparatively. But some day I'd like to be on the winning side of one of these close games i.e. Note Dame last year. Ball State lost to UM, which isn't a surprise.

In basketball? Flagler is a small private school located in a hot bed. I wouldn't underestimate Flagler. or a school like it.

Flagler has not had a winning season in BB since 2008. ... Until CMU, Flagler had never defeated a D1 program.

FWIW ... The MAC RPI/Kenpom or whatever does not look to be very good this season. (But if there is a year to be bad, this is it).

They are a non-scholarship D2 team...like...I can't think of a worse loss in a long time for a D1 team with any sort of name recognition.

I didn't predict them to win. I said I wouldn't underestimate them. Talent in basketball is clearly flowing down as players realize they can achieve their same ultimate goals without needing to put in four years at a P5 or a G5. Florida is DEEP in talent.

No one learned a lesson from Hillsdale? Flagler can recruit how they want. No one is watching. And they are in a talent rich area. "I wouldn't underestimate Flagler or a school like it."

But to each their own lessons the hard way.
