One of the clear and concise rational voices we didn't hear enough of.
Juxtaposed against the current Identity politics voices or even an older generation that have proven fraudulent posers like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton the likes of Walter, Thomas Sowell and Shelby Steele are national treasures.

perfect post! I agree 100%
Great loss for our country. Walter was one of few who said what he knew to be true, even though it conflicted with political correctness and what he, as a black man, was expected to say, and he always did so with brilliance.
Sowell, Steele, and others (Candace Ovens), will carry the torch.

Williams aligned himself with Malcolm X not MLK. He was fine with violence that was justified.
Fortunately his stint in the Army was during peace time. He was known to speak his mind and "agitate". Particularly when he was stationed in Georgia. A superior officer attempted to court martial Williams for "agitating". WW acted as his own counsel defending and acquitting himself. When he countersued he was transferred to Korea.
Not until he was seeking his advanced degrees at UCLA in the 60's did he change his mind about the minimum wage and government aid.
Thomas Sowell isnt long for here as he is older than Williams. But his and others readings like Karl Marx are still available.
