We're not even predicted to be that bad. I know that an OT victory over UNCW isn't very impressive. FWIW, ESPN BPI predicts ECU to win 7 conference games this year. That said, I really can't argue with those rankings too much although what has Tulane done to deserve 4th best in the league?
I didn’t really put too much thought into the order of the teams within their groups, just the general tiers of teams

UCF preview doesn’t seem like they watched our games at all lol, “locked up both of the offenses they played” and “using one of the slowest tempos in the country to their advantage” even though our D looked porous for most of the game at Michigan and our tempo actually being somewhat fast paced this year...

With that in mind, I think that list is pretty fair.

Houston is shooting field goals no better than Temple did last season. Ridiculous for those who make rankings to rank Houston, a team that shoots two’s at only 43 percent, and 32 percent on three’s, as the nation’s 7th ranked team. They should know that good teams that can rebound are going to keep Houston off the offensive boards. Nor will good teams allow Houston to win the turnover battle. Sure seems that at least 32 teams in the nation who shoot far better than Houston can do that.
Can’t wait till Houston and SMU meet each other. If SMU hold their own on the boards and turn the ball over no more than Houston’s does, SMU should beat Houston.
Surely, on any given night, either team can win, but it will be more of an upset if Houston beats SMU.
You enjoy the abuse you get here, don't you? Some sort of self-hating thing you got going on?

LMAO. Good lord. Miggy’s takes keep getting worse. How is that even possible?
Sure. It will be an upset if the NUMBER 7 team in the COUNTRY happens to beat SMU. A team that has already annihilated Tech and beat South Carolina without their two best players and coach.
I’m glad he’s really embracing his clown status.

RE: Rating the AAC in men's basketball
Without even seeing the full WSU team yet .. I'm guessing 5-7 finish for us. With the right breaks, I could see 3-4 but honestly it's really going to depend on which team can keep their full team together the most this year. 2 week+ quarantines for key players in the middle of conference play can really shake up these standings.
Otherwise .. .it's Houston and everyone else.

Tulane should sit at 11th unless someone is dire or Tulane wins a couple of AAC games. I think we finish around 8th, but they need to prove it first.

Houston annihilated Texas Tech? Really?
Texas Tech applied pressure in the second-half and Houston collapsed like an accordion. As Houston committed six-turnovers in the last 12 minutes and scored but just 11-points to finish off the second half. Is some indication that if Houston is denied control off the of the offensive glass, they will struggle. Such is not indicative of a team that is worthy of being ranked 7th in the nation. As fans, you should at least recognize what occurred and not put your blinders on to Houston’s poor shooting and failure of Houston players handing pressure.being pressured. For some observers, such is concerning. Just hope all conference fans don’t readily accept how good Houston is. At least, as compared to other teams in the nation.
That’s right

Due to Covid, a rebuilding year, and injuries, Temple may get off to a rough start. However, with the addition of Barry, they could gel in January and improve as the season goes on.

your takes are so bad....
you are taling about blinders, when you are one with blinders, when every single person in the nation sees something different than you, it is likely you with the blinders
you have the worst record on projections in the forum..
the entire premise for your attack on houston is that when houston went up 20 on the top 15 team, they slowed down their offense...that is the entire premise of your dumb take

Wow. We scored 11 points in the last 12 minutes. Yet, we still won by double digits. Go figure.
Complete annihilation.
Oh, and let’s not forget. Doing all of this without the AAC preseason POY.

Your take is tantamount to Houston slowing the game down on purpose, missing shots and having the ball stolen from Houston players. Sampson’s decision to run the clock down toward the end of the was strategic, but such does not equate to him wanting Houston to either turn the ball over or miss shots as Houston did. Given your tunnel vision, not surprising you don’t get that concept. How good Houston is will be determined in post-season play. If you and others think Houston is a great team even though they shoot poorly, so be it.

your take is dumb... missing end of shot clock hailmaries is meaningless... yes sampson would have liked to makes those hailmaries , but that wasnt our regular offense, the goal wasnt scoring
not sure how familiar you are with football...think of the air raid football (pass almost every down system)..when you are up huge in a football game you run the ball every play in an attempt to kill clock(even if you are air raid).. if you are an air raid offense you hope those runs are successful but its meaningless to your regular offense. complaining that they couldn't run the ball as to why they won't be good is meaningless to what makes them successful, they were just killing clock
houston was up 20, waiting till there was 5 seconds on the shot clock and then forcing a shot.. they weren't running the offense
you takes are stupid ..lack any depth or nuance..
you talk about blinders and tunnel vision when that is you.. when everyone sees something but YOU, it is you who haves the blinders ...
you are always wrong...
but dont worry yoru take has already been locked in... you said houston has no chance to make the sweet 16 ..we'll see.. ill remind you

RE: Rating the AAC in men's basketball
No ranking but a few thoughts (though very early):
* Houston seems to be considerably stronger than the other AAC teams
* Tulane and ECU seem improved
* Memphis needs major work
* This might be the first season the American has not offered a truly bad team. Lots of balance on paper.
