We won the league last year and are staying true to form currently, we also got a road win in conference, do you have a road win in conference? You lost to a team we beat and the team we lost to is undefeated in conference. You are going to be awful disappointed if it does take this year for your team to learn all the little lessons to win. So far you have what could just as easily be a fluke win as you do a season defining one. It's my opinion and you're free to disagree. We'll actually watch it all play out on the court so we'll know who ened up being correct.

Have to love the snarky remarks on this forum LMAO I disagree with you, and apparently so do most of the posters on here with their rankings, but it’s okay buddy. We’ll see who is right in due time

Wait so do we care what other people think or not?

You have disagreed with everything that doesn't hail UCF as great since the start of the season, you bristle at being told to be patient and over thankful on praise. My view on your team has been consistent and I'm not worried about how it will play out 07-coffee3

I don’t bristle about it at all, I just bristle about it when I’m being taught lessons about consistency from the least consistent team in this conference

Really? So you didn't call me putting a team six spots in front of you in the conference standings in front of you in my rankings disrespectful?

Did I go out of my way and specifically say hey Iam, look at this ranking?

Naw you just got your panties in a wad because UCF wasn't at the top.

I'm not nearly as annoyed as you think I am about this. I just think you're basing your entire argument on conference standings 2 games in for most teams, which isn't accurate. It's as if you don't watch the games and just look at the records. Houston and Memphis are both 2-1, do you view them as equals?

We should go back to RPI. Much more accurate.
7. UCF
13. Houston
14. SMU
22. ECU
55. Temple
70. WSU
117. USF
132. Cincinnati
141. Memphis
160. Tulsa
182. Tulane

I'm good with that! The American would have 4 high seed NCAA tournament teams by that metric. UCF would be a 2 seed, SMU and Houston would be 4 seeds and ECU a 6 seed.

Curious - what was your take on Wednesday's SMU-Temple game?

As a Temple fan, I was pretty impressed that the Owls, a young, undermanned, rebuilding team with 4 players recovering from injuries were able to keep the margin of defeat down to 8 points.

The team played better in a number of respects (rebounding, ball-handling) than they did in their debacle @ Houston.

They still have a long way to go, but Coach McKie has done a good job getting them ready to play.

I had expected them to win only 4-5 games this season, but if Wednesday's game is a sign of things to come, they might be able to win closer to 50% of their games.

When I tuned into the game late, Temple was down 3 and they went almost completely dry. Ask Triple A, he knows whenever I tune in late the team we want to win loses. Nothing against SMU but we need them to lose.

Seriously, Temple showed themselves well. They looked better than I was expecting them to. They looked pretty good to me.

SMU covered so the game went pretty much as expected. Winning on the road in league play is never easy. SMU had a full 2 week layoff and it showed. I think SMU is better than yesterday's showing. While Temple may lurk near the bottom of this conference this season, the bottom is closer to the middle than it has ever been. In a normal season I would expect Temple to win 8 or 9 non-conference games and then 6-8 conference games.

Why do you want SMU to lose? That is the single most idiotic post I have read on this board. Joe Lunardi has SMU in the NCAA tournament field right now as the last team in. SMU is rated the second best team in the league by most metrics. We need Houston, SMU, UCF, and Wichita State or Tulsa to continue winning. That is our best shot at multiple NCAA tournament teams. Cincinnati and Memphis already wet the bed and Temple is young and rebuilding.

Glad to hear it.

The Owls seem to have some upside potential this season. They're starting to show what they might be capable of if/when they gel as a unit, and when a couple of currently inactive (injured/unavailable) players begin to see action.

I don't want SMU to lose. Except when my team is behind them in the standings playing another AAC team. I'm for every AAC team playing out of conference. I think we all are.

I have nothing against SMU. If it gets down toward the end of the year and an AAC team is on the cusp of getting into the tournament, I'll root for that team. Basically understanding we're not getting in so I'll be for the team that represents our conference best.

Bottom line is I've never had a problem with SMU. Why should I?
