JMU has a big 3 game series at home versus ECU this weekend. ECU, while not a top 40 team, it is one of the better teams left on our schedule.

We play them on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Interesting no double headers to shorten the trip.

With three games in three days the starting pitchers will be interesting, and perhaps telling. Which of our top two pitchers will get the majority, or even all of the starts? If Allisa get's two starts, that likely means she's moved up to our #1 starter.

AND with the Saturday game at 1:00, I might try to do the softball/football double header - if I can convince the rest of the family.....

Alexander did not play this weekend. I thought she left the game early against SBU with a leg injury (possibly hamstring). I don’t know if they were just resting her this weekend and if she’ll be ready to go against ECU. Allisa pitched all of the doubleheader.

Alexander looked like she suffered her injury legging out a single in the second game of Friday's double header. I don't know how serious it is, but hopefully we can get her back in time for CAA play. Alissa Humphrey looks downright NASTY in the circle. Hopeful we can get a third pitcher to eat a few innings until Odicci is back on the field.

Appears we will need to string a lot of wins to move up with this soft schedule. ECU will be a challenge to sweep this weekend.

Softball no different than football, basketball, et al...36 teams listed in that poll and only 6 non-P5's.

It's a P5 world. We just live in it.

Looking at ECU's schedule to date, I'm not exactly sure why you consider ECU a challenge. I'd probably go as far as saying if JMU does not sweep ECU, they don't belong at #35 anyway. I view the Dukes as considerably better than ECU, with the disclaimer maybe I don't follow it as closely as perhaps yourself and certainly others.

#31 Liberty - barely beat ECU by one run in the two home games they had with them.

ECU also took #18 Georgia to extra innings, and lost the other game to Georgia by only 3 runs.

If both situations, teams ranked higher than JMU barely swept ECU in 2 game series.

Just noted on JMUSports, due to predicted crappy weather on Friday the game scheduled for Friday vs ECU will now be part of a doubleheader on Saturday, first game starting at 1:00 PM. Sundays game at 1:00 PM still as scheduled.

Moved the softball game from today which is a Sunny day in the burg.

The only potential negative would be is if Alexander is not available and Allisa would need to pitch 3 games in roughly 24 hours.

Dukes off to a fast start in game 1 today. Double by Kate Gordon on the first pitch in the bottom of the first, Sara Jubas walks and Logan Newton drops a three run homer over the left field wall. 3-0 Dukes.

No sign of Cici in the lineup for game 1.

Jubas hits a solo dinger in the btm 6th to run-rule EZU, 9-1, to put away Game 1 of the DH.

Shifflett with a Grand Salami in the btm 4th to give the Good Gals a 5-1 lead over EZU

Dukes head into the top of the 7th holding a 6-3 lead over ECU

Alissa Humphrey comes in for the final 1 2/3's innings to nail down the Dukes 6-3 win in game 2. She also pitched a complete game win in game 1.
