Thought the announcers did an overall nice job. They were fair with the commentary and not bad at all to listen to. They didn't say Imo's name right first couple of times, but oh well.

Thinking back to last podcast and Jeff's comments, team did a great job grinding when things got tight last night. Step in right direction.

At ODU 65-64, good decision to put Long on their guard who was doing a lot of damage during the comeback. He played him great on possession prior to time out and again on drive to basket at end. I thought Williams (I think) did a nice job on the help there at the end.

Without TSG and BS, Good work by Wiiliams, Fields, Baker, Essien (welcome back), and Smith. Contributions were huge.

Clean up the sloppiness and turnovers.

Anyway we can run offense where Long ended up with several clean 3s, where one of our other guys in can take those shots? I know Long can make them occasionally, but boy he had 4 or 5 great looks last night. Couple of those go in and it wouldn't have been so tight at the end.

We got a conference win on the road.

Improved consistency, if achieved, could make this team much better. Their good is pretty good, but too much bad interspersed makes them average too often.

Happy for the win and would love to see a strong game Saturday to get one back from CC.
Long was 0 for 3 from 3. He had one other where he was open but dished it to Bake who hit a 3. Then there was the one towards the end where he hesitated, took a dribble then forced up a long 2 and missed badly. That one was bad. But overall I think we pass up too many open threes. Jenkins in particular had a few but decided to try to penetrate and it wasn't there. Missed opportunities.

I thought Long had a pretty decent game. He was quite good on the boards, which was where I was afraid USA might hurt us. His play in that regard may have made the difference IMO.

South Alabama is not a good rebounding team. We probably should have done better on the boards last night but thats the way the ball bounces at times.

If we are worried about rebounding, Southern Miss is really the one team that seems to be really good at it

So. Miss, Marshall and JMU are all having good seasons in basketball and football. We are the ones not pulling our weight out of the new additions. Its a bit embarrassing. But yes, to your point, So. Miss is going to be tough.

Not arguing anything you are saying. JMU had a great football season and both Marshall and USM are delivering in both sports, while we had a miserable football season and our record is what it is in hoops. But do we really need to turn the subject of every discussion into this?

I agree. Always plays hard. Was very aggressive last night, in all phases of the game.
