Through 3 1/2 games Millner looks like a great addition—best overall player on this team, and the only one who seems to have a motor tonight.
Jackson has been a disappointment so far; certainly not someone who looks like they are ready for the next level.
Minus Edu, we really have no inside game on either end of the court. Getting clobbered on the boards.
Is Saunders just overmatched at this level? Maybe the next to transfer out?
Sanders scored 3 points in that half, which is as many as Jackson, Littleson, Komagum, Acunzo, Maranka and Hill combined. I don't think he was the problem.
Yeah—I hear you. I just wasn’t terribly impressed with Saunders last season, which was after a redshirt year, and this season from what I’ve seen he just doesn’t really have a great spot to fit into...an ok but not great ball handler, not a great 3 point shooter, too small even if a true 6’4” to really help in the paint...I dunno.

Defense isn’t very good. Hope it is because we are young. We are struggling at home against a weak opponent.

Toledo wins 70-61 but don’t ask me how . . .
The last three minutes was like waking up from a scary dream lasting 37 minutes.

RE: MBB - Rocketa vs Cleveland St
Bright spots:
We came back from being down by double digits!
Millner is the real deal; Rollins playing well for a true freshman.
Komagum continues to be a solid rebounder; 11 for the game and SIX offensive boards. Would have liked to have seen him score a bit more but maybe that will come, even though scoring wasn’t his primary contribution at his previous team.
2-2 is better than 1-3. Gonna be a big struggle in the MAC, especially if we are without Edu...not much from the bench so far.

I just read that on this date in 1976, Toledo beat Indiana in the first game in Centennial Hall ending the defending national champs’ 33 game win streak. Two great coaches went head to head in that one. Those were the days, my friends, we thought they’d never end.

I'll give credit where credit is due, nice come from behind win, especially when you're out rebounded by ten and your bench only scored a combined eight points from four guys.
Let's see what happens against EMU

Great job to battle back from a double digit deficit! Four big 3's from Littleson in the second half.

RE: MBB - Rocketa vs Cleveland St
I don't think Cleveland St is a weak team. First half I felt showed they were well coached, know each other's skills and share the ball. They have a diverse set of individual skills and once some of their newer players know the game better, they'll be good. It was a solid win.
I'm of a different opinion of Milner and Rollins. I don't think they're quite on the team page. No doubt trying to make things happen. Energetic. But messing a bit with the sync. I'm sure coach gives his players freedom to create but if the team is to grow, I think he needs to have those two trust their teammates a bit more and keep the ball in the hands of the players with some years in on this team.
Now that's based only on having seen one-half of a game. So....

Huge free throw difference. That was the game. Crappy field goal shooting.

RE: MBB - Rocketa vs Cleveland St
2 different halves. remember CSU was playing their first game of the year and came out with a lot of energy. we came out flat and it showed. i don't see rollins and milner as playing selfish. they are the best shot creaters and scorers so far and should be taking shots. yes, they've each forced a few and need to better mesh with the team flow, but I don't think it's a problem. rollins is the best offensive player on the team, and he has room to improve and will. saunders needs to finish his drives. his outside shooting is pretty automatic when open, poor when well guarded. if he can make contested layups he's a plus on offense, but that's been a problem for him. his defense is pretty good. i really like komagum. he knows his place on the team and does what he can do well, primarily rebound. I think he's got more potential as a finisher and hopefully marreon can adjust his game to drawing the defense more and drop off passes to komagum around the rim. marreon is the concern now (other than edu's injury). he's struggling in the mid range and attacking the rim. and, yeah, he does look heavier. although he's got a weird build and I can't tell if it is good or bad weight.

CSU shot something like 23%. OU 59%.
During the 40-0 run, CSU missed 17 shots in a row.

I thought CSU looked like garbage in both halves against us but they got every long rebound and held a good lead going into half. We had the talent but the ball didn't bounce our way. Ohio may be better than us but when a team goes that cold, anything is possible. We did it vs. missouri whoever last season.
