New offer to 2023 Madisyn Jordan. From North Carolina, offers from Charlotte, Davidson, East Carolina, and others. Recently took part in the USA U16 trials but didn't make the final cut. Interest from some bigger programs.

@RiceWBB and @LindsaySEdmonds. Go owls!!!

From this video from 2 years ago, she appears to be a very good outside shooter...

Interesting. Not a name I'd seen before. Can't find much about offers - just a bunch of tweets from her trainer saying that schools were tracking her. Plays in Kentucky now but seems to be from Austin. So kind of a Texas recruit.

Yup, she apparently moved to Louisville and Mercy Academy last year to work on her game. If she google her there are several more videos from her time in Austin.

I don't have a subscription to read it entirely, but the Google search fragment of this Feb. 2, 2021, article in the Louisville Courier-Journal said: "Born and raised in Texas, Rickard never lived outside of the state border until her family moved to Louisville after Thanksgiving due to her father's business."

Very unusual for a program that's been decent to good over a period to get a commit from somebody with very little recruiting buzz who's 1+ classes away from campus. Not at all an indictment of her as a player, just something that feels unusual from my following of HS recruiting.

Maybe it is the first intangible awareness of a Rice recruiting scandal in the making....

I was having drinks with a classmate from the late 80's the other night, and he said something that really made me laugh.

He said heaven would be a Rice basketball or football program that is successful enough to earn an NCAA investigation, while hell would be the Rice programs of today earning an NCAA notice of opening a recruiting investigation.

2022 5-11 W Victoria Rivera took an unofficial visit. Offers from a bunch of southern mid- to low-major schools (e.g., UNT, Tulsa, Lamar, UT Arlington, etc.).

Edmonds’ recruiting has been a snooze fest so far.

Not impressed but will give her time.

Hello Stanford.

Before NIL probably a fair assumption....today I'm not sure she gets out of Louisiana (Hello LSU).

Kim Mulkey just signed an eight year deal and LSU alumni are LSU alumni. So this young lady will be the face of just about everything (including snow tires).

RE: [split] Women's Basketball Recruiting Thread 2021
Offer to 2022 Elle Evans. Other offers from Virginia Tech, Colorado, Utah State, Penn, etc. Looks like she averaged 11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in HS last year. But I'm guessing she moved off the ball after the first two games because she had 8 and 7 assists in her team's first two games. Shot 48/43/82 and added 2.2 steals per game.

Also 2022 Carlie Vick, also from the St. Louis area. She's a forward/post who averaged 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

6-2 post from Cedar Park - helped lead them to the state 5A title last year (15 points, 8 rebounds a game). This video is a nice background on her. The story at the end is quite remarkable.

RE: [split] Women's Basketball Recruiting Thread 2021
She's got good size (listed at 6-2, 180). But looks to move decently well. Footwork seems okay, though I think she'll need to improve it to consistently beat post defenders at the college level. Seems like she can make outside shots, but clearly not her strength. I'm sure the staff will work on that. Some Texas sites have her listed as one of the best 2022 centers. The staff seems thrilled on Twitter (though they would be for any commit).
