He was a very kind and humble man. So many of us lost a big piece of our younger days with his passing!
Saw him once in a restaurant in Atlanta a few years back when we were going out on Mother's Day.
I used to play pick up ball at a popular gym in Memphis about 20 years ago and he was speaking at an engagement in the conference room there....I snuck in on a break and shot the bull with him a couple of minutes.
Thing ill never forget is when I shook his hand, they were concrete firm and enormous...

Just the same as all the girls say about me!
Concrete firm and enormous? Is your left hand big too. You should get a real girl friend.

sorry, couldn't let this zinger go unused.
Was talkin 'bout my extra finger, but you knew that already, cause your girl friend told you about it when she came home.

Sorry boys, it is the superfluous papilla that denotes unbelievable virility, not polydactyly.

Cloris Leachman died yesterday at the age of 94. She was in a ton of stuff through the years, but I guess she was best known for Phyllis on the Mary Tyler Moore show and playing Frau Blucher in Young Frankenstein.
So we've got basically 3 left from MTM - Betty White (she just turned 99), Ed Asner (91) and Gavin McLeod (he turns 90 next month). A few others too but those are the main ones remaining.

The Mary Tyler Moore show cast had some serious longevity genes.
