RE: CAA Awards 2020-2021 Seasons
I know that Mr. J already posted this but I wanted to resurrect the original thread to, hopefully, be used throughout the season.

Yuri Covington named CAA Rookie of the Week. Luke Loewe got Honor Roll mention for Player of the Week.

I expect that Sydney Wagner will soon be named Women's POW.

We have a couple freshmen who, if they can avoid turnovers and become consistent, will be exceptional. Congratulations, Yuri.

Maybe winning "Player" automatically trumps any consideration for "Rookie." I imagine they want to spread the awards around.

As long as it doesn't count against him for end of season awards. Although I wonder how far off from 3rd team or honorable mention Connor is.

To me it's hard to say he hasn't been one of the 15 best players in the conference so far. But there's a lot of basketball left.

Slow down,he had a great 2 games, everyone has gone way over the top here.
Let 's wait and see how he does the next few weeks ,when his # starts to even be mentioned in scouting reports .
Then we can talk about all this other stuff, fact or fiction.

King, for the record, Kochera has been the leading scorer in 4 or his 12 games played. He leads the non-centers in field goal percentage. He leads everyone in 3 point percentage. He is third in rebounds playing small forward. He is second on the team in steals and points per game.

Those are facts

I would say he's had four very good games, adding in Drexel and ODU. Out of 12 played, that's enough for me to say he's not a fluke. The top-15 numbers aren't hyperbolic: He's 11th by Torvik, 13th in BPM, 13th in ORTG, 15th in PPG with great efficiency (48/40/77 splits; one of only five players in the conference with >10 PPG and >60% TS) and 4.8 RPG as well, although I grant that he's not an impactful defensive player yet. Those numbers may come down as teams clue in on him more; I already noted it's a small sample size--not putting him up for POY or putting his jersey in the rafters yet. There are also a lot of good players in the conference who have missed big chunks of the season so far.

For conference only games, Luke is top 15 in 6 categories (top 5 in scoring and asst/to ratio). Connor top 15 in 5 categories.

Also, Telfort and Carr are making a serious push for RoY.
