Had a relative who did that and found I was somehow a descendant of Andrew Jackson. Thought that was pretty cool. Also like that Trump had (maybe still does) have a portrait of AJ in the Oval Office

I've been around oodles of them. The issue is that they all rely on group think and even if they have doubts being accepted by the group is more important to them than finding the truth. If you don't first seek truth there is no opportunity at all for common sense. If you seek acceptance you will always be a slave to someone else's agenda, will never find your own identity as a person, and will grow frustrated, and assert your nonsense as the truth rather than face the fact that you are gutless to stand up for yourself and that you long ago were lied to and misled making you a fool.

And this is why I rail against public education. It has turned into a souffle' of B.S. all lauded as delicious by the fools who teach it.

That last part reminds me of the joke "the Moose Turd Pie". My dad used to tell me that joke all the time over the years. (The message behind it isn't exactly the same as what you said, but it reminded me of how some will figuratively eat literal sh*t and say it's good.)
