Let's hope this change is made. Northwestern is finished if Pat Fitzgerald leaves.

Fitz won't leave for the Jets or Jags, imo the only NFL job he'd even consider leaving for is in Chicago down the lakeshore at Soldier Field.

Northwestern’s 2 previous coaches were Randy Walker and Gary Barnett. They won 3 B1G Championships in the 12 years before Fitzgerald.

That was with facilities from the 50s — today Northwestern has among the best IPFs in the country.

So Arkansas St. is raiding Saban's staff. Butch Jones was an analyst for 3 years and he hired Major Applewhite, also an Alabama analyst-for the last 2 years, as Offensive Coordinator and QB coach.

Saban has better people as analysts than a lot of schools have as coaches.

Someone needs to hire Bret Bielema, who was awesome at Wisconsin and not bad at Arkansas considering how they plummeted after him.

Stories were out there that Major would be hired by Arkansas St., but South Alabama has announced Major Applewhite as offensive coordinator. I guess all the is weren't dotted and the ts crossed. 2 additional Saban analysts hired.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/st...oordinator

'...A former Texas quarterback who was 22-8 in four seasons with the Longhorns, Applewhite has made several FBS coaching stops since his playing days concluded. He was the offensive coordinator at Rice (2006) and Alabama (2007) before returning to Texas as an assistant under Mack Brown for six seasons.

He also spent two seasons as Tom Herman's offensive coordinator at Houston (2015-16) before Herman left to take the Texas job, paving the way for Applewhite to step in as the Cougars' head coach prior to the 2017 season.

Wommack also announced Monday the hiring of Rob Ezell as tight ends coach and Gordon Steele as offensive line coach. Like Applewhite, both were analysts for Alabama this season...."

Jag fans are happy to have Applewhite in Mobile. Our offense needs help. I’m hoping Coach Steele (son of Auburn DC Kevin Steele) is able to make some (quick) improvement on our offensive line. It has been the weak area of our team the past 3 seasons under the former coaching regime.

Bryan Harsin to Auburn. Odd fit, but he was successful in his only year at Arkansas State.

Trust me, most Boise State fans, including me, love Coach Harsin and would be fine if he was a lifer. It's gonna suck to see him go.

Doesn't sound like much of an upgrade over Gus Malzahn to me.

I'm just hoping Arizona screws up and doesn't hire Brennan from San Jose State. Trying to get another $1million in annual donations to fund his retention is not going to be easy, but I'm chipping in.

Who???

Apparently, he has strong relationship with UA President. Nine different organizations and ten separate jobs in 12 years, by my count. No ties to Arizona.

And then there’s this:

Pity poor Harsin! He'll be walking into a angry hornet's nest at Auburn where the AD and administration never pre sold his hiring to the fans and didn't involve the donors. Hasin and his family are probably nice people, and he might even make a good coach, but the tone-deafness of the administration has wholly botched this kids reception. This is what happens with a good, but interim, president and an AD that doesn't know doodly squat about the SEC, or the Auburn fan base and BMD's.

The biggest legitimate concern the fanbase and donors have is that Harsin really has no experience or connections with regards to recruiting the Southeast. If he replaces most of the current staff he'll likely fall rapidly behind over the next few years while he is getting known and trusted.

I guess Greene didn't pay attention to what happened to the BS PC AD at Tennessee who pulled the same stunt!
