Forfeits are actually the more manly thing to do. It provides clarity.
Takes more guts to admit you are wrong or you are not going to play then simply waffling as the current state is showing. This is akin to when I used to wrestle, I had a couple times when my opponent would forfeit on me, not that I was that much better, it just happened. You would get the forfeit and you'd move on, or you were hurt and you'd have to forfeit, it's just a part of the game.
But for some reason in 2020 there can be no losers, and everyone's a winner.

That response makes literally zero sense in a team sport where record is vitally important.
It’s not like wrestling, where you just pack it up and do it again the next week with a fresh start. It’s one on-going season.

The biggest incentive for instilling forfeit wins and losses would have been accountability. There would have been consequences for programs who were not able to get their health under control
As far as my wrestling analogy, it absolutely applies here. I don't know what basis you're coming from, but in tournament play you win and advance no matter what. If you're hurt, you can play hurt, or you can bow out. It's just like our teams having to battle through health issues in 2020, you either buckle up, and show up, and figure it out, period...or you go home.
The reason Marshall has been able to maintain control is we have multiple groupings practicing, you don't see an entire position group like the Denver Broncos losing every quarterback, our groupings don't stay together. Not all of our programs in this conference have figured that out. I also think not having negative repercussions from postponements and cancellations have weakened us.
