UVU at BYU
For those that want to see a WAC team play, UVU is down the street tonight. Second half starts at about 8:15 Mountain. It’s free to watch or stream in BYU TV.
UVU had a double digit lead to start. Really punched BYU in the mouth. At the half BYU leads by 14 after a big comeback run including a last second 3 pointer to end half 1.
Woodbury from UVU is for real.

RE: UVU at BYU
Mark Madsen has done a lot with UVU already. He is the right guy for that job in every way. Despite losing so much talent to BYU when Pope left, Madsen is a guy who can pull in big talent.
Any UVU fans around? Join us here. It’s fun!

Not a UVU fan, but I watched the game.
Woodbury can play. I really like what he brings to the table.

RE: UVU at BYU
Woodbury was OK last year. On again off again starter and put in some good minutes, but the turn around to how he looks this year is significant.
If UVU gets some of their other talent back in the roster, like their Georgia Tech grad transfer, they are poised to win a lot of WAC games.
They are picked 7th in the coaches poll, but I think 2-7 is a toss up still.

RE: UVU at BYU
Woodbury was originally a Menzies recruit at UNLV. And, Menzies is a former NMSU coach. Menzies has always been a good recruiter. A lot of his UNLV talent is sprinkled all over the country... Trey Woodbury at Utah Valley... Joel Ntambwe at Texas Tech... Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua at Baylor... Amauri Hardy at Oregon... Ben Coupet, Jr. at Arkansas Little Rock... and Tervell Beck at Kent State.

Woodbury has progressed more from last season to this season than a lot of players do in 4 years. Madsen must think highly of him and he seems to have enough free reign to really play his game and lead the team. He's going to be fun to watch.

Colby Leifson (6'4, 190, Soph) is also a Trey Woodbury clone. He didn't play last night because of COVID protocol. But he is supposed to be even a better perimeter shooter than Woodbury. Add to the fact that the Wolverines also add Georgia Tech grad transfer Evan Cole (6'10, 230) and Weber State transfer Tim Fuller (6'9, 235, Soph); who started at Weber State last season. The WAC is going to be stronger this season.

Colby played on such a deep team at BYU that he didn't get many chances. He's a good player though and should be one of UVUs top guards.
Being in the same freshman class as TJ Hawes was probably a good reason to not be optimistic about playing time there. Hawes started every game at BYU, even as a Freshman.
