Nobody in south Louisiana should complain about anyone getting a boatload of aid after a natural disaster. I've lived in Baton Rouge since 1994, and I've witnessed first hand how often New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Lake Charles do their share of cashing in on disaster funds. That being said, man, I visited the Tech campus over the holidays. It's quite impressive. We're getting brand a new baseball stadium, softball stadium, soccer complex, tennis complex, and tons of new parking. All we'll lack once the new construction is finished will be to update the east side of the football stadium.

Thanks guys.

U really on a thread about ULM woes gonna brag about your welfare Lexus. Your trailer park neighbor to the east is struggling and has to decide whether to use food stamps to buy food or buy shoes for little Isaiah.

Hey spend your Gubment money on whatever you feel just remember that the rest of the real Universities worked for what they got so we're not impressed. Just happy for your girls softball team not having to change in a converted porta potty trailer. Is there enough uncle Sam money to replace the outhouse y'all use as a ticket booth?

When you say “all YOU’LL lack is an update to football stadium” I do believe you forgot to mention all of the fans that are needed to fill up all that fancy new parking lot FEMA paid for. Tax payer money at work the good ol’ Louisiana way!

Your post comes off as if you are proud to be a leach on society.

Man, you guys really shouldn't let those eight ass whippings in a row that we've put on you crybabies get to you so much. Life's too short for that, and you should lighten up a little bit. Besides, it isn't like we're the first place that's ever had a natural disaster and had FEMA come in to make things right. That IS why FEMA was created you know.

J.C. Love Field at FEMA Park has a nice ring to it. Tech will NEVER replicate the magic or tradition that our fan base brings to the diamonds...NEVER.

Louisiana football is relevant...Tech is not. Don’t let our Top 25 rankings and National respect hit you on the way out.

You’re welcome. It’s the least we can do for those “universities” in need. And after all that, the new facilities you have been given will still pale in comparison to what Louisiana has built on their own! Think about that. Excuse me while I wipe my Top 25 nuts all over your face.

FEMA was created to help AMERICANS recover from natural disasters. Not to help sh!++y universities replace sh!++y facilities they neglected in the first place. But hey congratulations on upgrading to Juco level facilities. It should go nice with that double wide on stilts y'all have as a press box.

You know the difference between a Habitat for Humanity house and a section 8 housing. HoH people are invested in their houses so they actually take care of their sh¡+. You have no fan support so when that new trailer smell wears off and y'all are no longer high from the formaldehyde where you guys gonna get the monies for the upkeep. I mean without ULM y'all have the lowest budget in all of FBS.

But hey why we fighting. Football is the only thing that matters right? Except it doesn't to your fans. Especially when Duck season comes around. Y'all struggled to get 25k to watch a aTm game when both were good. Half of that attendance were aggie

So while your thump your chest over a game that took place years ago, our higher fan support and bigger budget allows us to actually build something. Your just now beginning to see it with all the Louisiana on ESPN and in the polls while y'all are stuck on CBSSSSN. Congrats on that separation y'all worked decades on. It's call obscurity.

Yeah another example of this govt wasteful spending is they average 600-700 fans for baseball games but the new baseball field at their FEMA park has a capacity of what 1,100? We are all paying for shite their own fans do not support. Sickening.

The one time ULM gets a thread on this board, it devolves into ULL/LaBlech fighting about... FEMA?

I apologize for threadjacking. The Laturd arrogance is nauseating. Especially on things unearned. They've been riding Boise State's coattails for years but will never admit that they are the main reason for the wac's demise.

We've heard this same BS over and over out of Cajun fans. You have a decent year, and then act like you're always good. The fact is that we've stomped your asses the last eight times we played you, and it hasn't been close. We've beaten you by an average margin of over 30 points. Only one of those games was even the least bit competitive, and that one was back in the 90's. The last two butt whippings we put on you were during Hudspeth's reign before he was caught cheating (which is pretty much SOP in Lafayette). Everyone that was on this board back then remembers all the BS you guys were saying before those two games. As usual, you guys were all talk. Get back to me when you guy's can manage to stay within 20 points of us in a football game.

It’s been 5 years since you all played Louisiana and during that time the Cajuns have been on a rocket ship into the top 25 while La Tech and most of CUSA have become the doormat conference.

You haven’t seen the AP Poll since Obama’s first term while the Cajuns have spent this season firmly entrenched in it.

Dude...do not apologize for something you didn’t do. You didn’t hijack the thread that laturd troll did with his disgusting bragging about their new FEMA park. He is one of the worst of worse.

Please do not feed this troll. I can’t believe he is allowed to post his dribble here. So much for that whole fans from another conference thingy.

It was a Cajun that started this. He's the one that brought up the fact that we received FEMA relief funds after Tech's athletic complex was hit by an F3 tornado. I just responded to that buffoon, and I've been responding to all of your idiotic posts since then. If Cajun fans weren't so enamored with everything La Tech does, you wouldn't constantly bring us up on the Sun Belt Conference board. I try to never post anything critical on this forum about any Sun Belt member unless we're being attacked. If you're going to attack someone, you should expect retribution and quit crying about it.

Didn’t Louisiana lose on the goal line up in Ruston back in 2005 or something? I remember the ref standing over the ball as the clock hit 00:00 not allowing us to get off a snap.

As long as all U.S. tax paying citizens get free admission for the first 1,000 games were good. If not, it would be awesome if Tech used the profits to pay the Federal Government back.

When the Tech coaches show recruits around campus and show off those brand new facilities, do they inform them that it was a complete handout? I doubt it.

As pointed out, they've recruited pretty well (but signing day isn't here yet) and they do have a new president. That's big because Nick Bruno was an albatross when it came to athletics.

But time is running out. An already strapped financial situation is even worse because of COVID. And, even with a new president, can ULM start putting enough money in the coffers to stay afloat? And, can they do it quickly enough?

And, can they talk Viator into staying? He's a very good football coach...IMO, the best ULM has had since moving up to 1-A/FBS.

I think the time is critical for the Warhawks.

The thing is, dropping to FCS doesn’t save a ton of money, and the revenue would be much less. Where you could save is the need for 16 sports, but you’re still looking at a big drop in revenue from conference TV contracts. As small as the SBC is compared to P5 conferences, just look at how much FCS conferences pay out, if they do, do they, I really don’t know. ULM is here to stay, hopefully Louisiana, as a state, can better position themselves financially. It wasn’t that long ago that there was consideration of the whole state, even LSU, ceasing football operations, as little reality as that had. Has the state even recovered from that??? And now add a new financial hit with 2020.

Being competitive at the top of FCS is a program builder. Lingering at the bottom of FBS is a program killer.

Y'know, Southern fans have shown plenty of disrespect for my school. My wife went to Auburn; I was there for the last spring game where we could walk and see the original Toomer's Corner oaks. I've absorbed a lot of the emotion of the Bama rivalry. And I do think it's possible that you Louisiana folks win the prize on in-state hate.
