Sounds like your AD was doing what our's kept doing with Rod Carey and keeps doing with Montgomery. Rod Carey gets blown out in yet another bowl game, let's give him an extension!
Maybe you will get lucky like us and Temple will hire him away in 2-3 years after they fire Carey. I don't see Carey being competitive in AAC and lasting there. His offenses are bad and he can't develop QBs.
Well to be honest I'd take a Carey season over the last two under Hammock.

RE: MAC Saturday
Who were Buffalo’s OOC opponents that were nixed? Would’ve been curious to see how they did on a full slate. Seems like a Top 25 ranked-worthy team.
Was Patterson the one who was rallying early on for a MAC season when it looked like it was lost? I know it was a Buffalo guy.

Yes it was Patterson who was rallying for a MAC Season.
UB's out of conference opponents were suppose to be Kansas State, St. Francis (PA), Ohio State and Army.

If Carey stayed this team wouldn't have been too much better. NIU won 4 games in 2018 by a total of 8 points. The only reason that team was in games was because of the defense and Sutton. Sutton left early after that 2018 season and this team was destined to regress.
Carey had a 5-7 season in 2016 where he also lost to an FCS school.
The loaded team he was handed from Doeren is far different than what Carey left Hammock.

NIU will be back.
Don’t sleep on Hammock.

How's RB Coach doing so far?

NIU has improved over the season, he's recruiting better than Carey did, and we aren’t paying him $2 million.
I saw Rod was making excuses about why his team was getting blown out every week. Apparently Temple is the only team in the country to lose players to transfer, injuries, opt-outs, and COVID quarantine.

I wonder how many players Temple lost due to transfer. We had quite a few.

We had 5 players play in every game. 5.
