While I don’t support what the officer did, why are people obsessed with sticking their nose in to things that don’t involve them? Another social media, I’m saving America by filming cops, attention seeking whore.

I ask myself that question all the time.

Most states and municipalities have laws requiring you to identify yourself when asked by an officer. Almost every state and municipality has a law that requires one to obey commands issued by a officer. I would almost guarantee his refusal was a violation of law.

People watch all these YouTube videos concerning your rights with cops not realizing that laws are different everywhere if they aren’t directly constitutional.

Social media has made it cool to be a Karen. The reality is not enough folks being punched the face for not minding their own damn business. The kind of lessons many of us learned in the school yard unfortunately are no longer being taught.

My good friend is a public defender. He says that all these videos actually make it easier for him to do his job. Because almost every time when he shows the video to his client, his client changes his story to agree with the officer's version of events and becomes very eager to cut a plea bargain.

Sorry but being asked to show your ID is no cause to be hit in the f'ing eye. If a police is right I'm going to back them but when they are ass-holes, well, thats what this one was.

Growing up I was hit with a slap jack across my back/shoulder breaking my collar bone because a cop asked me to come there. I was standing in a friends yard. I refused and he walked over swinging.

A slap jack is flat and about as large as a spoon you put in large dishes...its weighted metal covered in leather and you hold it with your hand through the strap. I know of many people that were beaten when it wasnt needed.

I still back them when they are in the right....

this isnt one of those cases. If they refuse to show ID and you have the legal right to take action. Tell the person and ask them to put their hands behind their back.

This man will be getting a check from the city...it just wont be as large, as it would be if his skin was a different color. That is unless there's more video than was shown in the news clip
