Don't need one, as long as we actually play Rice. 4 conference games is enough to qualify for the championship game. Even an additional win next week does nothing to improve our chances at the title game. It's basically down to beat Rice, win the west. Lose and stay home as we would fall short all percentage tiebreakers because of the lesser total conference games we will have played (4 OR 5). This is why I urged ADMI to be proactive back in October and add a game or two when the opportunity arose. But UAB chose to trust the Conference to take care of things.

But that's a big IF for the Rice game. I could see our whole season hanging on that game, and it getting cancelled the day before, and there would be nothing we could do about it. If there's ANY chance to hedge our bets and get a game on Dec. 5, I think we need to move to do it. But as you said, we had our chances earlier in the season and we drug our feet. And here we are.

You know the SEC sacrifices Vanderbilt to Missouri instead of letting them play TN “to balance” out games played... I wished our conference would
Make someone come ply us.

Don’t assume just playing Rice will make us championship eligible. C-USA beat writers scribbling math on their blog doesn’t make it official. C-USA has a history of weirdly enforcing these types of rules and tiebreakers.

Playing only Rice and winning that game would get us a championship.

FWIW, I heard there is a good chance we play on Saturday....

USM at UTEP canceled due to COVID issues at UTEP, so USM at UAB next weekend may happen...
