Interesting fact I heard, there is no eligibility requirement. An 18 year-old gifted athletic person and a college drop out can play right away. If this league can stick around I wonder if it will have an impact on college recruiting and college player looking to jump sooner

The Battlehawks actually have a pretty loaded QB room with Ta'amu (Ole Miss), Fitzgerald (MSU), and Heinicke.

Report from NY Guardians news:
"While Summers got most of the pub during the defensive dominance, New York defensive end Bunmi Rotimi Jr. cleaned up, registering nine tackles (seven solo) with one sack, two QB hits and one forced fumble. "

Cal, what was your impression of the league?

They did a better job setting this one up, and it is on more solid financial footing than the last failed attempts at a new league. The TV deal makes it more viable. Attendance averaged about 17,000 and they had decent TV ratings. They have some good rule changes, many of which I think the NFL will adopt. I think the novelty will wear off and come March madness, there will be less interest. I think the league will probably survive the first year, but I doubt it will last long term. The track record for these Spring leagues is dismal.

I hate to say it - but there was more spillage then drinking in this clip.
Would have been boo’d during my Fraternity days at ODU

I read somewhere that Vince had set aside $350M of his own money (from divesting of WWE shares) to sustain the league for three years. He's betting that if he can keep it going for that time, interest will grow as it won't be seen as another fly by night league (or the last attempt of the XFL). At that time, he's figuring he can get a bigger network deal to essentially fund the league and then continue the growth. Only time will tell though.

I believe I remember them saying during the first game- there are some designed running plays for the third string QB- but he was not a accomplished passer.
Hope this was the case and TH has not dropped down the list.

Nice find. Thanks.
The article doesn't say, but I'm pretty sure Windham wasn't primarily a catcher until his last year as Old Dominion. If my memory is correct, he played OF and IF positions for the most part prior to that. I remember him taking over at SS after Rutherford got drafted.
