Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Vicky Morris opt out this season? The Pilot seems to think she’s playing. Was there a change of heart?

She may have very well changed her mind. With four incoming freshmen next year, I reckon Coach Milton-Jones needed four slots to open up. However things may have worked out, I love the idea that Vicki may be playing. We need her scoring. It also pains me greatly that I couldn't convince myself to go out and support the ladies at GW today. This COVID-19 pandemic has to end soon!

Is it too late to cut basketball season due to Covid and play football instead?

Actually, I thought ODU didn’t play too bad. Yes, they got the stuffing beat out of them on the scoreboard, but if a few baskets fell here and there it would have been a much closer game. ODU hustled, rebounded well against a much taller team, and played very good defense. The only problem — and it was a BIG problem — was that the ball simply didn’t go in the basket often enough. All year ODU will struggle with teams that have tall, athletic inside players. ODU simply can’t match that. Better days are ahead, I think.

I couldn't agree more. They played hard, the ball just didn't fall like we are used to seeing from the ladies. They threw up many shots, 3-pointers included, but the basket kept eluding them. Like you, I'm convinced it won't be long before we start seeing drastic improvement. I also liked the hustle Lanay Wheaton brought to the game when her number was called. Good game to learn from.
