I would imagine this is a combination of TV requiring earlier games to get us ahead of later airing pro sports games (usually 7pm with 2 or 3 hours of pre-game coverage) and then earlier in the season needing earlier games due to the colder weather.

Edit: JMU confirms earlier games are due to 6pm basketball games later on those days.

Source?

Is there news on when the other game times will be released?

Not sure which source you are talking about, but the JMU Sports website for the FB schedule shows noon kickoffs as Potomac has indicated for the first 2 games. He's speculating with the words "I would imagine" on the remainder, which makes sense. Another case can be made that it will be late February and just down right freezing cold so noon makes some sense. Nobody is watching these games other than JMU fans and even a lot of them likely aren't. The idea that a game is scheduled early in anticipation that home hoops games will be played later in the day makes some sense.

GO SCIENTISTS!!!

Didn't realize it was posted on the site. That's what I was looking for.

Now to see if they allow tailgating. Don't see any reason to be attending if not, that is even if they have in-person attendance.

If they`re allowing 1000 at an indoor basketball game how many will they allow at an outdoor stadium 3x the size?

PS: just saw Greg put an article up saying they’re aiming for the same 1000 fans based on limitations.

Governor's mandate caps all gatherings at 1000 regardless of venue size, indoor/outdoor, etc. Right or wrong, that's the number at the moment.

We'll be MEAC by 2025. Schedule makes sense. (and yes, I realize NC A&T will no longer be in their historic home conference by then)

The NC A&T scheduling is quality, but the other two are meh. Presbyterian just dropped all of their scholarships and left the Big South to go to the non-scholarship Pioneer Football League.

If we're going to play NSU ad nauseum, can we at least rotate in the other VA FCS schools and start playing VMI and Hampton again? I'd rather it be a 3 team rotation that just NSU. Might as well start scheduling other bordering state FCS schools too.

For the love of god, I hope this is bc we'll be transitioning to FBS or we'll be filling an Indy schedule or both during those years. WTF.

I agree with the VA rotation but the play devil’s advocate I can see why playing NSU home and away is useful for recruiting that hot bed area. Outside of that, I am completely bored with NSU as well.

Playing NCA&T is cool, I just hope they're still good in 5 years. But gosh its just so unexciting to play 95% of the teams in the FCS - seeing us play Monmouth and Norfolk State is sad. I just want to build rivalries with schools that care about football

Yeah, Presbyterian is not moving the needle. I'd rather play St. Francis. At least they have scholarship athletes.

Georgia Tech scheduled a 2024 game with Austin Peay today.

I bet their fans are raging about it.

RE: Future FB Schedule (2021-2028)
I feel like both Georgia Tech and JMU are not offering much in the way of entertainment to their season ticket holders. I think I am now understanding why some fans prefer the NFL. The quality of play is obviously higher but in addition to that, you don’t get these lopsided meaningless games.

I just don’t enjoy 50-7 games. The tailgates are always great though. I guess it is a matter of what is more important to you.
