RE: Future FB Schedule (currently 2021-2028)
During the Zoom call that Greg Madia hosted last night I started counting... so in 2021, assuming all of this current plan plays out, JMU could:
-play up to 8 'regular season' spring games
-play up to 4 playoff games through May
-play 11 regular season fall games
-play up to 5 playoff games

You have at least 19 games next year and at most 28 games (ok 27 as the 2021 Natty would be held in 2022). That's a ton of football. I'm not sure if it's good or bad.

While that is technically correct, of the last 14 teams to play in the NC game, since the field expanded to 24 teams/8 seeds in 2013, only 1 has been unseeded, playing 5 playoff games (ironically YSU in 2016).

Realistically are looking at at most 27 games in about 11 months. What teams have an advantage? Who has the best strength coaches, team docs, and trainers...

Best we could hope for in the COVID world.

All I know is the OP has been updated and it's still a stronger schedule then Ole Dirty Community College has!

so how do you get the CAA auto qualifier with 4 teams in the south and 7 in the north? Our strength of schedule is terrible.

First reaction -- how unappealing.

After a cup of coffee -- I guess? Sure why not good for these athletes getting a season.

CAA could have at least given us a game against Delaware in place of Elon, but then I guess Elon would have to travel even further to play Villanova that last week in April

Weather and COVID protocol dependent, I guess I may take in the game @ Elon

I feel like Covid is dictating the scheduling. My sister lives in Conn. and had planned to visit my mother in Virginia. VA and NC are now on the “list” of states that the Conn. Governor requires a 14 day quarantine if you travel to them.

The northeast states feel the folks down south are acting in an irresponsible matter so they are limiting travel to the south or requiring folks to quarantine upon return.

This is likely the case. Northern schools can't travel to the south without lengthy quarantine periods that would require them to miss scheduled games. They had to keep it as regional as possible, knowing that CoVID would still be there in the spring and restrictions would still be in place.

I like double spider beatdown. I like playing WM twice despite the differences in our teams’ competitively. Elon is the best of the 3, I believe. Cool. Do not care at all about the OOC games, but not mad we scheduled them. I understand the goal is to go 8-0.

UD & Nova advocated for the absurd 7/4 conference split, but it’s definitely to avoid JMU moreso than any other reason. Rocco is scurred. Nova HC is scurred.
