Would be awesome if this was played at MSG.

Would love to have an excuse to leave my wife and kid on a Tuesday night to watch Western Kentucky vs Abilene Christian in-person in front of a crowd of 300.

Hey you might be able to see the Cats if we keep our hot streak up. Maybe Mason Madsen can become a new Gerry McNamara at Msg. LOL

Hopefully that’s the resume boost Wichita needs to make the tournament.

UH looked like they would blow out WSU jumping on top 28-16. WSU roared back and took the led by 8 or 10. UH got close but never got the lead back. Game sealed when WSU intercepted and drove for layup with about 10 seconds to go. UH players stopped the layup with Fragrant Foul (Ejected) 2 shots and ball.

Strange ending as UH missed shot and WSU rebounded but held the ball and started walking off. Should have been called travelling but UH players were leaving the court and refs looked at each other and walked off also.

By the end of the game, all of the players on both teams probably had foul fragrances.

Not sure why but I find myself rooting for UCONN and UCLA this year. UCONN looking terrible in the final stretch against Villanova. UK trounced UT...setting up for an SEC tourney run?

Texas is well on their way to blowing a 19 point lead right now.

LOL, me to, but i'll take a guard who can avg. 15 or 20 a game shoot well from 3 and knock down ft's consistently. I was looking at his career stats and they were even better than i thought. 2k plus pts, most 3 pts in Syc. history and best % ft. He had a heck of a career for an unathletic 6'2 guy.

He wasn't unathletic. Good athlete who could hoop. Key player on a national championship team as a freshman.

The 3 that he hit to beat the Bearcats in that Big East tournamrnt game, he was totally unguarded.

Was he? It was a runner that if I remember correctly he split 2 defenders and threw it over the outstretched arms of a closing Eric Hicks

So glad I watched the Michigan-OSU game instead...those two teams are crazy good, and probably the best overall basketball game from a talent, effort, and gameplanning perspective in a long time.

Juwan Howard is looking like a grand slam for Michigan so far. He’s been everything they thought Jim Harbaugh would be.

He was smart enough to simply focus on recruiting and get phenomenal X's and O's guys around him (Phil Martelli) to help develop his coaching while in the position. Kind of what Penny wanted to do, but the X's and O's guys (Larry Brown) fell through for him.

Martelli was a homerun hire that gave Howard the best possible chance to succeed. Not to take anything away from Howard who I am sure is far more essential to their success, but it was a perfect guy to bring in when hiring a head coach with no head coaching experience. I remember when there was a UC contingent that really wanted NVE and Martelli was a name I pointed to as someone UC should go after should they try to go that route (though I didn't think they should or would).

Our NET dropped from 117 to 130 after loss at Houston. I didn't think NET took into account margin of victory / loss

It does. NET has an efficiency margin component (Sort of it's own version of kenpom).

Mark knows everything metrics. He even knows statistical anomalies. Just ask him. Anything. No, I mean it. If he doesn't know the answer immediately he has his own lab that he can run algorithms to be sure.

RE: 2020-2021 College Basketball Season Thread
Things are starting to warm up a few days before March begins.

#15 Virginia, whose ranking is way higher than their tournament resume says they deserve, loses at home against 10-9 NC State.

Bubble team North Carolina is about to lose at home to 10-12 Marquette.

Bubble team Seton Hall is getting rolled by 7-13 Butler.

Bubble team Indiana was up almost 20 at Rutgers but is losing at halftime. End of the Archie Miller era if Indiana ends up on the bad side of the bubble?

It will be interesting to see how the small crowds (or no crowds) effect the conference tournaments.
