We did some real good things on defense against St. Mary’s and our offense was mostly flowing through Boogie with timely buckets from Baugh, Nolley, and Cisse.

Now WKU has some actual established stars (Bassey, Hollingsworth, Williams) on their team with a talented freshman(McKnight). St. Mary’s played with a bunch of role type players and lost their star players they were dependent on. The good news is we are definitely taller as a whole team than they are. However, they get to the line and shoot free throws really well. They are great at driving into the lane and rarely turnover the ball. Our bigs will definitely have to be careful not to get in early foul trouble.

I expect a high scoring game and lots of fouls. I think we squeak by in this one 83-77. WKU is the preseason favorite to win their conference and won 20 games last year (half way through losing their best player Bassey). They only lose one big man from their roster last year. They had a lot of high scoring games last year in the 80s and 90s. They beat Arkansas and lost to #2Louisville by 16, so I think we fall somewhere in between those two teams. The line will most likely by Memphis -9 to -11...but it could be a lot closer of a game.
