Delaware State 81
Lancaster Bible College 80

LBC was up seven with about 3 minutes left, then pretty much went scoreless as DSU crawled back.

Washington State 74, Oregon 71 (at Oregon)

So far Oregon's lost at home to Washington State and Oregon State. They're not even the best men's basketball team in their own state this season! If their season's not over already, it will be if they lose at home to Washington, possibly the worst Pathetic 12 team of all.

Wasn't that a M. Knight Shyamalan horror movie?

And Illinois lost to Missouri this year? Can we have that game back?

OLLU has played only DI schools so far. First NAIA game won't be for another week.

Kentucky 70, Tennessee 55

I thought Kentucky sucked this year and Tennessee still can't beat them at home! Kentucky also beat Florida at Florida this year. If Kentucky wins the SEC Tournament this year I'll laugh at the entire SEC. I think the entire country will.

DePaul 88, St. John's 83 (at St. John's) - Two DePaul road victories in the same season??

A score of note: Lipscomb beat Kennesaw State 77-63. LU played 10 men off the bench — and who played a collective 56 minutes. Those players, during those 56 minutes, scored a collective ... one point. Has this ever happened in college hoops history?

This borders on highly surprising. I have followed (and cheered for) DePaul hoops for many years. This has been a rough season for DU. But this Blue Demon win with 88 points — and on the road, no less, to a seemingly good SJU team — stunning.

And Georgetown beats the Hall in Big East play.

I'm starting to think the Big East is very mediocre from top to bottom (notwithstanding Villanova) this season. But to be fair ... most other leagues look similar.

On paper ... a true headscratcher. I'm about to check the box score. Maybe UL was missing some players.

I don’t know if finishing strong, like 3-0 to the end (meaning completing the sweep of Nova and splitting with Seton Hall) puts them on the bubble. The losses are head-scratchers. Or, rather, why can you play up so well against Villanova and then crap the bed against Depaul like this.

How it might have gone down...

Coach: ok ok I’ll give you some playing time. But under no circumstances are you to shoot the ball, do you understand?

You might be correct. A number of those 10 played only about a minute each. It still ranks among the more unusual stats I've ever seen.

That one is a major surprise.

Nope, you are correct. This is easily the worst season the Big East has had since the 2013 split. For the first time, the Big East is not performing like a "power" basketball league, and is being out-performed by the AAC.

Even Villanova is overrated. They lost to Virginia Tech for crissakes.

RE: Laughable scores...Men's Basketball Edition
To me, the big news of the past week or so is that some of the traditional powers - Duke, Michigan State, even Kentucky, that have had historically bad years have seemingly started to round in to form.

Duke and Michigan State seem like they have worked their way on to the bubble, while Kentucky can only hope to make the big dance via the SEC auto-bid, but if any of them do get in, we all know they would be dangerous floaters in the draw and could do a lot of damage.
