Oakland, who lost by 93 points to Xavier/Bradley/Toledo, took Michigan to Overtime.

Carver 23
It took over 19 minutes for Carver to break ten points and over 35 to break twenty.

Queens University (NC) 85
Howard 71
Queens fell a point shy of taking out George Mason.

FIU 82
Flagler 75
Flagler had the lead in this one for most of the second half until about 3:30 left.

Is Carver even a real school? Who loses 105-23 to Appalachian State?

I went to Appalachian State's website and clicked on the link for "Carver" and it gave an error! "Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be found."

I think it's a NCCAA school if a quick Google search is right

http://www.carver.edu/contents/Athletics.html

Some of its original schedule had 4 D1 basketball schools on it. They only play men's and women's basketball. I don't know how NCCAA schools stack up compared to D2, D3 or NAIA though. At this point why not allow Community Colleges or junior colleges play D1.

NCCAA is primarily made up of schools accredited by TRACS but without regional accreditation, and play athletics at a level below NCAA and NAIA. Carver is mostly a bible school but is applying to SACS for regional accreditation.

According to Wikipedia, Carver College in Atlanta has 60 students. Not a typo. 60.

According to their own webpage, Carver has 150 undergraduate students.

I love this time of year. I think that I am pretty aware of many universities, but then I come to this thread, and boom, a new university that I had never heard about before. Thanks!

Just to avoid confusion. This is the D2 Emmanuel College in Georgia, not the D3 Emmanuel College in Massachusetts. The two schools share no connection except for having the same name.

Arizona Christian (NAIA) almost knocks off New Mexico State:

All NAIA vs D1 I am aware of are here:

http://www.victorysportsnetwork.com/Clip.../page1.htm

No NAIA victories yet this year.

With the exception of the Oakland game, Xavier’s winning its last three games by one possession. EKU took them to OT. Minnesota eeked out one against LMU.

Biggest choke job of the night was Wyoming. Got up to a 21-point lead over Texas Southern at the start of the second half. Texas Southern crawls back and takes it at the end.

RE: Laughable scores...Men's Basketball Edition
Anyone else finding this virus version of CBB unwatchable?

I tuned in tonight to watch Duke vs Michigan State. This was the first CBB game I had sat down to watch. I turned it off about 15 minutes in, the hollow echoes of the empty Cameron Indoor made it feel like a Saturday morning scrimmage not a real game.

Perhaps more than any sport, basketball requires the claustrophobic feeling created by a packed crowd. That's the atmosphere. The NBA made the bubble work by investing a lot in the virtual crowds and the noise effects, which they fine-tuned as the playoffs progressed. But individual schools cannot do that (if Duke can't, nobody can), and it makes the product very weak, IMO.

Bradley 105
Judson University 32

Judson scored only three points in the game’s last ten minutes. And ESPN might want to correct which Judson this was. This Judson is the NAIA Elgin-based university, not the Alabama girl’s college.

Or Army. It didn’t make it onto the thread, I don’t think, but they beat Buffalo the other night. That was unexpected.
