Houston nearly doubled Lamar, 89-45. Yes, it is only Lamar, but it is an impressive victory nevertheless.

SMU, you are at bat.

Memphis and Houston look good to go. Let's hope we get to play most of a season.

Ellis was impressive, but Memphis not so as it only scored but 30-points in the second half. Lucky that St. Mary’s only shot 1-18 on three’s. Team has potential, but it has a long way to go.

"Lucky that St. Mary’s only shot 1-18 on three’s.".... it has nothing to do with the fact that memphis is one of the best defensive team in the nation...and are defending 3pt shooters with 6'7 guards/muscular 6'5 guards

Sasser and Monk only two Houston players to shoot well against lowly Lamar. Texas Tech will be an interesting game.

St. Mary’s offense shot fairly well on 2’s. missed open three’s . As such, Memphis idoesn’t seem like a great defensive team.

Was it St.Mary’s defense that held Memphis to only 30-points in the second half?

Like to see top teams in conference have a few players who shoot consistently well. Houston needs to show that as well.

Suspect that SMU will be more fun to watch play.

Geez...Memphis had the #1 scoring defense in the country, and everybody is back except Precious (and Harris, who was a major liability on D). Plus Cisse, Nolley, and later, Rand and Williams are here.

GTFO...we turned on the D after falling behind 7-0 early, had a 17 point halftime lead, then coasted. Go root for George Mason or somebody...

miggy your takes are horrible, please stop giving takes on other teams , and stick to giving bad takes on temple ..
memphis held st marys, a projected NIT level team to 56pts and you are trying to argue that wasnt a great defensive showing..just stop

you are complaining that memphis only had a 30pt second half..ignoring memphis was up 20 most of the second half and had no urgency to score...

your houston take is just as bad...and filled with your crazy hypocrisy ....a backup temple player will have 8 total shots for any entire 30 game season, make 4 and you will use that to justify them being a good shooter... youve literally labelled tai strickland an great shooter from a sample size of 8 total 3pt shots in 30 games, when his high school scouting report says he's just an average shooter..but when gorahm, greshman, roberts, tyson combine for a 42% fg%(47% from 2) for 21 pts (on 21 attempts)...only mark and mills had a good shooting night

Haha....yeah, we suck and don’t know how to play D. Maybe Temple will show us how it’s done lol.

knock on wood (and not cancelled).. but i love that we get to see the capabilities of houston and memphis on levels the next 3 days

a "projected" high level mid major- that might be good enough for an atlarge (boise and wku)

and a "projected" high seed tourney team (wvu and texas tech)

we'll see what the top of the conference looks like before most of the conference plays a game

Good lord... do you even watch the games or just read contextless box scores?

Does WVU still run that 1-3-1 zone? Will be tough to face that with no prep.

We need to worry about WKU. Not great defensively, but they can fill it up.
