Exclamation Should we close the Legion Field era with one last game early next season?
Since it looks like we won't play at Legion Field again and give it a final sendoff should we play an early non-conference game there next season. The staidum won't be ready until about the 4th game anyway. It would also provide a more recent contrast when compared to the new stadium...

NO. If we can't get a home game on 12/5, then lobby for a slot in the Birmingham Bowl. Otherwise it's time to move on.

So more than likely UAB's last game at LF will be a loss that ended their 21 home winning streak. Awesome!

Are we gonna be reimbursed for 3 games and parking?

It would be 2 games and parking but I doubt it.

Opening the 2021 season with 4 straight road games and starting potentially 1-3 or even 0-4 including possibly 2 CUSA games and opening against Liberty is not appealing at all. But I guess ending the season with 6 of 8 at home has its benefits...

Current 2021 schedule:
09/11 - at Georgia
09/25 - at Tulane
10/02 - Liberty

I suspect that you can get it refunded if you ask. I'd imagine most folks will just let it slide and consider it a donation to the Athletic Department.

I'm with Blazerjay on this one: see if we can work out a quick deal with MTSU or WKU. If not, lobby for the Birmingham Bowl and be done with this season and Legion Field.

that's kinda the way I was planning on going myself had though it is hard to lose all the money spent on the tailgate/parking spots.

Maybe we can play the spring game there, if there is one.

Maybe we can add North Alabama for 9/4 at Protective?

*EDIT - Nevermind they are playing at Southeast Louisiana that date.

We've all seen worse closeouts to legacy stadiums. Miami lost 36-0 in their last game at the Orange Bowl.

This would be a good time to call up Samford! Two local teams to open up the new venue!
