What will be the WAC record after week 1?

6 "should" win, 5 expected losses.

5 could go either way-
Seattle vs Idaho
Chi St vs NC A&T
UTSA vs UTRGV
Dixie vs Weber
Seattle vs Air Force

10-6 ??

Too bad if UVU vs BYU is cancelled, it was the WAC's best chance for an upset. UVU has done it before.

UVU was the WAC best shot at an upset and against BYU? I know you are talking out of these games for this week but still that would have been a very tall order.

Well, by definition an upset is a very tall order. I guess my definition would be something that gets an article on SI or ESPN calling it an "upset".
There are serious potential wins that are way more likely (e.g. NMSU over UTEP and/or UNM) but they wouldn't qualify.

I think I am not going to do the OOC thread that I normally start. No sense this season.

As an aside: Arizona Christian has the game with NMSU (and UTEP) labeled as an Exhibition. They also score a lot of points, or have in their games so far.

Seattle is playing Portland tonight and not Idaho. Impossible to make any plans on watching a game.

CBU tied with USC.
UTRGV getting blown out, 28% shooting.

CBU? You mean Ty Rowell. without him shooting 8-14 from 3 tonight this game is a 20+ point loss. Guy was insane tonight.

Imagine if they had Aquaman still on the team, they would have won.

RE: Week 1, November 25th - 28th.
USC was slow on their close outs beyond the three point arc. Once they realized to overplay the guard (and not give up the three) on the pick and roll and let the big man roll to the basket (and stop him at the rim), they were finally able to stifle CBU's offense.

CBU was impressive with respect to perimeter shooting. But the key is to play over the top of the screens and force the Lancer to beat you in the paint. Quicker swarming defenses will disrupt CBU's offense.

.500 for the WAC so far. 3/6 day one. CBU probably with the most impressive game of the day even though they lost. Worst performance to me is Rio Grande.

Can't disagree. For some reason (hope it's not season ending injury or eligibility), the new highly promoted defenders Otchere and Marek Nelson didn't even play. Texas pretty much shut down Levi and then he fouled out. And of course the 26% shooting.

I was hoping you guys could keep it within 15 point loss, right around the 12 point area. You guys are unanimously the #3 team , and to a lot of people the #2 team in the WAC. I know you guys will rebound from this, hopefully sooner than later.

Hmm. I didn’t realize those guys weren’t playing. If they don’t play this year, I don’t think you will be the 2 seed. If CBU plays like they did last night, they will end up #2.

Right now I'd say we're competing for #4 against Seattle and UVU.
