40 worst stadiums in college football
Waldo is NOT included. However, Central, Eastern, NIU, Kent, Buffalo, and Miami are included. Put the thread here because it is not totally Bronco football. My opinion, some of the stadiums didn't look all that bad.

Sorry, scrolled down and saw the Rose Bowl on there, end of reading, no credibility. The Rose Bowl is the greatest football stadium, in my opinion to watch a game, even a high school game, where Pasadena High would occasionally beat John Muir. #PHS grad.

I agree, but given their writeup, it makes sense. Reminds me of Tiger Stadium or Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Both were absolutely iconic venues that were absolute dumps by the time they were retired and needed significant updates if they were going to be continually used.

One bad thing for watching a game in the Rose Bowl is the farther up in the stadium you are the further you are from the play on the field. LA Colosseum has the same problem. And the approach to it is not good. However, can't beat the view of the San Gabriel mountains especially at sunset.
I have seen some UCLA games there and the 1984 Gold Medal soccer final. For that I had seats in the end zone and not too high.

The Rose Bowl is perhaps the best CFB venue to watch a BOWL game in.
Not a UCLA home game.

Lucky as a kid to attend numerous Rose Bowls, never paid face value, always waited till kickoff and the tickets were there, prices dropping fast. I am most subjective about the stadium, having graduated high school in it. That said, I never noticed the difference between a bowl game and a UCLA home game, it was still the Rose Bowl to me. Saw John Elway pass the crap out of the ball against the Bruins.

Agree that the stadium in Mount Pleasant, formerly known as Kelly-Shorts, but now commonly referenced as "Waldo-North," is a charmless, ugly, tribute to concrete. That said, it has been a v-e-r-y comfortable place for the Broncos to compete the last decade. The Chippewas have struggled to even be competitive against the Broncos. Many of the games have been WMU blow-outs, like last week.
The building CMU plopped in the north end zone certainly beats the crumbling old tool shed, but it also remains ugly. Lack of funding forced CMU to signicantly scale it back.
Thankful to be a Bronco and proud to have superior football facilities - and a superior football program - in Kalamazoo.

On Kelly/Shorts, the article states....
Quote:Attendance is regularly below the FBS minimum, even though the place can seat 45,000
Ahhhh, no. Try about 30K

IIRC aren't all 3 of EMU, CMU, and WMU pretty much the same capacity? (Tarps at EMU notwithstanding)
