I'm sorry but no one will hate the stink or, for that matter, respect them as much as App State.

First of all, Raynard did not "opt out." He quit. On his teammates, on his coaching staff and on himself. I get so tired of that "opting out" crap. If you opt out before the season starts because of COVID issues, that's opting out.
After that, you're just a quitter.
And, you know, not every program has multiple off the field issues. Coaching staffs make decisions to take players. If they turn away from players who have a history of being trouble, they don't have as many issues.
And, If a coach and a staff makes it clear what the penalties are for bringing personal shame on the program and the player does it anyway, maybe that player doesn't need to be with the program.
It's obvious Lunsford has taken chances with kids of questionable character. If it implodes, that's on him.
If you recruit good kids who care about academics, who want discipline and want to get an education,, you're ahead of the game, even if that player's :40 time is a little less.
Napier at UL runs a very tight ship and is very careful who he offers a scholarship to. I won't say there hasn't been an issue or two in his three years, but they've been handled swiftly and sternly. We can talk about parents all we want to. Coaches make the decisions to take troubled players.
Agree on Ellis, but let's be real, everyone has players like that, so there's no point on getting on a high horse over that.
The marijuana arrests have been a thing going back before Lunsford. Some jurisdictions are more strict on it than others. A rapper group with a billion cumulative views on Youtube got busted for marijuana violation while doing a performance at Paulson Stadium. Police don't care who you are in Statesboro.

No doubt App is playing well past couple of years but it’s a pretty arrogant take to think they will forever corner the market on loathing and respect. We’re still transitioning from our dark ages of 2016-17 with a first time head coach who is learning the ropes and making the tough but correct decisions. Coastal is already stealing some of that thunder that you think is exclusive to Boone, NC. We’ll right our ship and come for the rest.

Okay. It was a compliment pertaining to our respect for what y’all built from scratch.

TRUE and right back atcha!
I don't get the people that say or act like a team can only have one rival. Gag State is a rivalry because we are in the same state and in the same conference, hate each other, and want to win against each other at all costs. HOWEVER, Appy is and will be for as long as we play them our biggest rival. Yes, we hate Appy too, but at least there is some semblance of a mutual respect there. We love to hate Appy. We simply just hate Gag State.
We can woulda coulda shoulda all we want. That fact of the matter is that we played a #$%^&*Y second half and crapped away the win. We shoulda won, but we didn't. That's on us and we now have to live with it for the next 365 days. At least it sparked a change at OC that may get us out of the quick sand that we have been in for the last two years.

I'm just glad it was a close game other than the fact that we won. Only 2 of 7 have been 1 score games, the rest was pretty much settled by the start of the 4th.

I think Pinckney has a real shot at going to the NFL.
