In resent years some in the Texas media have labeled this annual match-up the "Best Rivalry in Texas". These players don't like each other, and our fans don't like each other (except Volkmar, everyone likes him). Records are thrown out the window and anything can happen in this game. Unfortunately, this 2pm game has been relegated to ESPN+/3.

Bought my tickets yesterday for the upper deck in the Alamodome. Really hoping this game gets played.

Sorry about that. It has been fixed to VIII. I really need to proof read before I post.

This game will is critical for both teams, who still have a shot at the division title. If our offense sputters like it did against FAU and much of the S.Miss game, we’re in trouble. But if we play like we did against UTEP, we should win by 10 or more.

One improvement this year has been our ability to win close games. We're 4 - 1 in games decided by 7 points or less. We were terrible under Coach Wilson in these type of games. Not sure if it's just a coincide or if it's an indication of better coaching. I'll take the latter.

Our achilles heel so far this year has been inconsistent QB play and penalties due to lack of discipline. Against UNT, I think we can survive the lack of discipline but we're in trouble if we can't have some consistency in the passing game. Our backup QB Josh Adkins is probably our best pure passer though he's coming back from a broken clavicle. I hope the coaching staff is prepared to go to him if our offense is stalling in the first half. Our defense should keep the game close.

I checked ticketmaster and they are selling upper deck tickets on that side of the stadium. It's the same side of the stadium as I sit which is why I didn't notice people sitting up there.

I checked ticketmaster and they are selling upper deck tickets on that side of the stadium. It's the same side of the stadium as I sit which is why I didn't notice people sitting up there.

Makes sense. There were still some tix available in the lower bowl but they were for larger group sizes. For this strange year, I'm fine sitting way up high.

Good idea. I think you'll find plenty of room for social distancing on Saturday. The dome has only had ~1 - 2K in attendance for each game.

You are correct. I sit on the “visitor” side and can see people in the 300s. Not many, but there are folks up there.

They did that to me the one time I started a game thread on here also. I guess they want all the game thread titles to look consistent. I can kind of understand that because I tend to be the same way, but it's why I haven't started any other game threads since. While North Texas usually seems to have a much better offense than defense (Honestly our defense usually blows), some of it this year is that the defense has been so hammered by Covid contact tracing. We still had some players missing for Rice, but nothing like the amount of players during the losing streak earlier in the season. We had offensive players playing defense for several of those games.

For Rice, we had a few players back and held them to 10 points until the very end against the backups. Fingers crossed that everybody can play this week.
