He will be a great defender a d finishes well around the goal. Defending, rebounding and stick backs. That will be lots of help.

I'm guessing 8 &6. Add two blocks per. I don't see him as one and done

I'll take the over on all of those stats.

Quite a bit of Alo's game looks to set up tip dunks--he just gets it up on the rim. I think that Wiseman would have gotten quite a few buckets last year per game based on just that. I expect both Cisse and Rand (when he's in the game) to capitalize on that this year.

Agreed...

Alo throws a good alley oop as well.

Ill take over on Rebounds and blocks. Points sound about right. I'd guess 9 pts/10 rebs/3.5 blocks

Best recent college comp is Mo Bamba - except Bamba had a freak wingspan, much better faceup/perimeter game and was an overall better prospect at that point. He finished the year at 13 pts, 11 rebs, 4 blks per game

Unless Cisse is only playing 20ish minutes a game he will average 10 points on just alley oops, fast breaks and offensive rebounds.

And probably close to 10 rebounds.

RE: SOURCES: Moussa Cisse is "good to go" for Tigers
Just as a point of reference, since 1991, Memphis has only had three frosh average >9 rpg in a season:

Precious (10.8)
Ren (10.1)
Dedric (9.3)

And all three played 30+ minutes a game.

Chris Massie and Joey Dorsey are the only two Tigers who have averaged more than 7 rpg while playing less than 25 minutes a game. (since 1990 ish).

The game lends itself to more rebound opportunities in the modern era. Faster pace, so more shots in general, and also far more three point attempts which tend to be lower percentage shots, more misses.

You can say that, but the point remains you don't see rebound numbers from frosh really get above 8 per game unless the player is a 30+ minute guy.

That is true as you have shown. We'll see if that trend continues with Cisse. For me the line was set at six so I think he gets over that easily. But like ST said the pace will create more opportunities and I would add that Cisse will likely be around the rim than Achiuwa who wanted to be a perimeter player as well. Someone like him might deviate from that pattern.

Only reason Precious got that many rebounds is because he didn't have much help. Hopefully we are a much better rebounding team and we don't need Cisse to grab that many boards. I honestly don't see him grabbing 10 a game.

2020 the 2nd best rebound was DJ @4.3 and he Missed 12 games...If Wiseman plays the whole year Precious is 8ish rebounds a game guy.

We have had our share of disagreements over the years, but in this case we mostly agree about recruits. Having said that, there are opportunities for outliers under two scenarios.

One, you have a player who is virtually the only viable option at a position. Precious and Dedric are two examples.

Two, you have so little returning that someone has to score by default. Mike Parks, Kareem Brewton and Tyler Harris combined to average 28 points per game between them their first D1 season. CDR, Antonio Anderson and Joe Jackson combined for 25.4 points their first D1 season.

Tyler Harris, Kareem Brewton, KJ Lawson, Trahson Burrell, Antonio Burks and Courtney Trask all averaged more points per game their first D1 season than CDR did.

On the whole though, most grossly overestimate the production and maturity they expect from freshmen. Most, grossly underestimate the improvement a player makes between his first and second D1 season. We have had a lot of players make big improvements after their first season. Grice, Massie, Burks, Carney, CDR, Taggart, Elliot Williams, Witherspoon and Austin Nichols.

I fully expect our sophmores to all improve quite a bit this year.

Absolutely agree, stats can be very misleading, even the very worst team in college basketball has a leading scorer, that doesn't mean he is any good. And on a good team a future NBA player may only average single digits. Last year's worst team, Chicago State's Xavier Johnson average 15.4 points per game, Precious averaged 15.8.

OTOH
James Wiseman 7'0" 210 #1 out of high school
Precious Achuiwa 6'9" 215 #15 out of high school
Tacko Fall 7'5" 311 #142 out of high school
Moussa Cisse 6'10" 220 #10 out of high school

You never know what will happen

HOPEFULLY, the team will be SO talented they won't look to Moussa to handle the bulk of the rebounding.

Unless he's SO good he's bumping upperclass guys to the bench and playing 30 mins a game.

If he's that good, then gimme a hell yeah.

Foul trouble plague many freshmen. Especially aggressive bigs. If he can average over 25 minutes a game his rebounding should be very good.

I'm looking for big things from Dandridge. He isn't the potential monster that Cisse is defensively, but I'm pretty sure he is better offensively. I think he will be very good bordering on great by the time he leaves. 10 fouls between them should be more than adequate.

As far as your bump and 30 minutes per game, if Dandridge isn't up to the task, that is exactly what will happen out of necessity. I'm super confident at the 5 because of both of them. Point guard play will determine our ceiling.
