Crossover Classic Latest team and pairings changes

Probably gotta beat SAINT Mary's, then Western Kentucky to get WVU in the championship game ...

RE: Crossover Classic Latest team and pairings changes
No. Iowa actually ranked slightly ahead of WKU in KenPom, #76 to #79. Sounds like a tossup.

The brackets were swapped probably b/c WVU (#8) and Memphis (#39) are the 2 highest ranked teams remaining, per KenPom. That would line us up to meet in the championship game.

The other 6 teams are ranked from 69 to 98.

Throw this whole thing in the trash. With the bracket change, now likely we go through all this and dont even get a quad 1 opportunity

These guys need games to play. Already losing some OOC and no Precious to count on for 15 & 10. The rest of them were so sloppy last season, get as many in as we can

I get it. But timing and location of this thing very high risk. If a player picks up covid we potentially lose them for both Ole Miss and Auburn games and we dont get the WVa game unless both teams make the champ game.

So basically there is a substantial chance we end up losing players for our two biggest scheduled OOC games and all we are getting for that risk is guaranteed games against St Marys and some combo of Northern Iowa/Utah St/SD st and the like. Reads like a fools gamble to me.

Not to mention the possibility of DeAndre Williams and Cisse not playing

Wtf are you talking about? The players will be on a plane, will all be in the same hotel, will all be eating at the same places and will be on a basketball court with no fans around them.

Is this supposed to be some kind of joke that im just not following?

The dakotas are covid hot spots. Last day of tourney is Nov 27th. We have Ole Miss dec. 5th and Auburn dec. 12th. SEC requires 14 day quarantine after positive test. If a player tests positive the day after the tourney ends he automatically misses both those games

You are incredibly thick. They aren't going to be living in South Dakota. They aren't going to be going shopping, hanging out with friends, driving to different places, going to bars or having barbecues.

They are getting on a plane, will go straight to their hotel, will eat all their meals together, will have no interaction with the public whatsoever. It will be safer at the tournament than it will be going about their daily lives in Memphis.

So yes, you aren't following. Your argument is nonsense.

You are kidding right? Creighton literally just shut down basketball activities a couple days ago.

What if those individuals contracted the virus a week later and didnt show a testable viral response until the tourney.

What if one of the other teams or groups involved in organizaing the event has an individual contract the virus slightly before the tourney and dont show an immediate viral response?

Now obviously there is no way to reduce the chance to zero but a tournament vastly increases the number of variables withmany more teams and people involved vs a normal game.

You are completely confused. The variables? Here is what the variables are.

DON'T PLAY
- In Memphis
- Able to go shopping
- Able to hang out with friends and family
- Exponential cross interaction between family and friends and the public
- In conditions that are not sanitized

DO PLAY
- Only interact with each other and other teams, all of whom will have been tested
- Control over where they will be sleeping
- Control over where and what they will be eating
- Each minute spent at the tournament will be at locations that are sanitized and disinfected.

In essence, the tournament will be a 4 day sample of the Liberal/Communist Handbook on violating civil rights and having complete control of sheep. There won't be a safer place to be on the planet.

Will everyone working/staying at the hotel, restaurants, the event itself, etc. also be flying in from outside of south dakota and going directly to hotels?

Will the event have comprehensive contact-tracing/bracelet scan in and out programs like the NBA did?

Those are your risk factors. Again, no way to get it to zero but the risk/reward on this one with only one non-guaranteed quad 1 game possibility is really out of whack

I'm trying to debate someone that can't read and has no clue what is going on. The players will be sequestered at the hotel. They will eat all their meals from the same place, they won't be allowed to have any contact with the public. They aren't going to be in the stands with the fans.

The players will have contact with each other, and with the other players in the tournament. Nobody else will get near them. That is much much safer than hanging out in Memphis and going to stores, having contact with exponentially more people, and being in places that aren't sanitized and controlled.

I know I'm "mean", but how can you be so thick? Seriously.

Stammers ... Your a pussycat. And you're right. This is a bubble deal, just like the NBA in Orlando. There won't be any tours or unnecessary outside contact. And your " safer than hanging in Memphis " is on the mark !!

I fully undestand what you are saying and honestly dont fully disagree with the overall risk assessment comparison. But the ADs / Medical Staff at TAMU and Utah didnt feel the risk-reward was worth it and honestly doesnt feel like Memphis gets much out of this.

Seriously.

I fully undestand what you are saying and honestly dont fully disagree with the overall risk assessment comparison. But the ADs / Medical Staff at TAMU and Utah didnt feel the risk-reward was worth it and honestly doesnt feel like Memphis gets much out of this.

I would play in it just because it is safer than being at home. There are going to be cancellations. Play in as many games as you can. Never turn down games.
