Happy to see that this likely won't affect any of the weapons I currently own.

Semi-related...but my new Weatherby Mark V is probably the best purchase I've made in years, such a nice hunting rig. Got a lot of work out this year.

I picked up a Ruger American Predator this that’s been great. Very accurate and at a great price. 0.6in five shot group at 100 yards off of front and rear bags with 140grain 6.5cm.

As much as I like wood stocks (I hunt with a browning A bolt or a Marlin 336) these plastic stock budget rifles like the American are knocking it out of the park.

What could go wrong

What could go wrong?...them not employing them. What's the use of having so much firepower if all is does is hide in a gun chest. Every conservative talks the talk but how many would walk the walk. Sure, there's many that have combat experience but what really would trigger that overthrow of an existing government. Fort Sumnter did it for for the Civil War but Ft. Sumnter was a Union base, what base do we have. They (Demons) would impose their will individually, slowly taking away the second amendment. That's their plan and like the mask mandate everyone not willing to fight would comply. One person cannot fight the government, an illegal one that's coming. If Trump can't win a crooked election with a Schiff load of lawyers what's makes you think individuals can?

Those Mark V’s are nice. Wish I had one.

A few years back on a whim I picked up a stainless Marlin XL7 in .308 new from an online dealer. Was super cheap. With the FFL transfer fee I think I spent $245 all in. Planned to use it for some longer range steel plate plinking. Did not come equipped with an iron sight so I stuck it in the safe until I finally picked up an affordable 12x Vortex scope this fall. It is perhaps the most accurate rifle I’ve ever fired. Video game level accuracy. I heard they made a mistake in engineering these...were just trying to get into the cheap synthetic stock market and people quit buying their higher end stuff due to the performance of this platform.

Paired with the Hornady American Whiterail Innerlock rounds it’s put a hurting on the herd on N MI and KY this year.

I just bought a Savage 110 Engage Hunter XP with a decent Bushnell scope. Same deal. Shoots great. $400. I have seen peeps on YouTube hit a milk jug with it at 1000 yards and more.

I have a Browning A bolt 7mm magnum that I bought about 25 - 30 years ago. It has a 26 inch SS barrel and is heavy as hell. I put a Leupold VariX III on it and have adjusted it maybe 4 times in all those years. I've probably killed 100 or more deer with that rifle. It has a composite stock on it and still looks practically new. I love it for it's knock down power. Almost every deer I've shot with it has fallen where it was hit. I've probably sold or traded every other weapon I've owned during the time I've owned it and have never once considered giving it up for any reason.

Good choice!

Savage gets a bad rap. Their higher end rifles are dream machines while the lower end ones are nothing to laugh at.

Up until the hoplophobic left decides to declare hunting rifles are “weapons of war”. If you think about it describing a bolt action rifle as a weapon of war is actually far more correct than declaring a modern semiautomatic sporting rifle as one because bolt actions actually were.

But find false security in the fact they aren’t coming for your guns. Yet.

Mine is a 7mm-08 with a Leupold VXII 3x9x40 and a walnut stock. it's been rock solid and my primary deer rifle for 15+ years. Every few years I take it to the range to sight it in, and find out it's still sighted in (1.5in high at 100).

My grandfather passed away a few years ago and left me his Remington semi auto 30-06 that he has probably killed 100 deer with, I'm taking it out as well to keep up the tradition.

Oh, just wait till they start classifying “weapons of war” by the cartridge..30-06 uses a 7.62x63 round...that has to be scarier than the AK-47’s 7.62x39, right?

Nice. The only times I've had to sight mine in were once when I stupidly dropped it out of my climbing stand, once when one of my buddies knocked it over, once because I hit a deer in the middle of his spine and one more time when I sent it in to Leupold for routine maintenance in which they replaced almost everything just because. Leupold is an outstanding company.

I’ve had a Leopold VX1 3x9 on my Knight Disc ML for 2 decades and how I’ve treated it should be borderline illegal. It’s been a fabulous friend to me and the bane of perhaps 75 deer since 2000.

At a lower current price point I’ve been really impressed with the Vortex line. No idea how customer service is since I have not needed it but so far I can’t beat them for the $$.

I love it when people flip out about photos of customized Ruger 10-22’s with black poly foldable stocks, fore grip handles, muzzle breaks, extended mags and mil spec optics...and then you explain that they are only weapons of war for pop cans and the occasional squirrel.

Yet.

Oh, just wait till they start classifying “weapons of war” by the cartridge..30-06 uses a 7.62x63 round...that has to be scarier than the AK-47’s 7.62x39, right?

Let's be honest...none of them know the difference anyways. They just think because it has more plastic on it to look like it belongs in Call of Duty, that it should be banned.

I love it when people flip out about photos of customized Ruger 10-22’s with black poly foldable stocks, fore grip handles, muzzle breaks, extended mags and mil spec optics...and then you explain that they are only weapons of war for pop cans and the occasional squirrel.

Hey, you know I'm probably a lean left more than right, but I'd probably just describe myself as a rational moderate.

The amount of people who are just dumb as **** fascinates me, and the sheer ignorance on guns is the #1 thing that I point to why I'm not a "Liberal" or "Democrat" i love pulling out photos of heavily modded air rifles and 22s and just see what people call them, then compare damage caused by them to my hunting rifles (both poly and wood stock) and bows with mechanical broadheads and just see them melt.

I can put holes the size of baseballs in elk with my 700 30-06 packed with 220 grain...and I've got an air rifle that looks like it should be slung on a SEAL's shoulder that won't even break skin. Guess which one my buddies are more scared of? 03-lmfao
