My poor cousin. His wife just bought him an AR-15 for their anniversary last month. Now, he'll have to sell it back.

That was the basic intent of the NFA. $200 in 1934 was a fortune.

But I would fight this legislation with every fiber in my being. If this passes, particularly if spineless republicans get a majority in the senate and then cave on this, it would be time to stick a fork in the USA.

Without the 2nd Amendment, the rest of the constitution is basically worthless.

And this repeals the 2nd Amendment, how exactly?

Because now the right to bear arms is reserved for people with excess money. Switch it around to taxing certain religions. Or press organizations that are taxed extra or handed control over to the government.

Again, how does mean we no longer have a 2nd Amendment?

Because the 2nd Amendment says, "shall not be infringed," and this is clearly an infringement.

So, we still have the 2nd Amendment? Thanks for confirming.

I don't think he can get this passed.

If some version of putting assault rifles on the NFA passed it would be with concessions.

I think the biggest 2A risk from biden is the precedent trump set by banning bump stocks with an EO.

Bump stocks turn a semi auto into a full auto (for all practical purposes). You've had to have a very difficult to get license for full auto for a long long time now. Not the same thing at all.

And if any EO passed by Biden is unconstitutional it can be tried in the Supreme Court.

Being written on paper and exercised by citizens are two different things. What good is the 2nd amendment if it is bastardized to the point of outlawing the very purpose it was written for?

Is that the way it works now? You have it in theory but they make it impossible to use. That's like saying you have a right to own a car but you are not allowed to have an engine in it.

Every EO Biden* issues will be litigated. Every thing he tries during his illegitimate administration must be faced down.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
Edmund Burke (in a letter addressed to Thomas Mercer)

Come January we will be facing an evil like none other. Good men need to start standing up against the coming evil if our Nation is to survive.

Biden thinks as long as you can own a single shot shotgun it means we still have the 2nd. The second amendment is there so we can protect ourselves, even from our own government. All you indoctrinated commies don't get that. Fortunately, there are still patriots alive in this country.

The same reason we don’t tax newspapers. Typically, punitive taxes are designed to eliminate behavior. We don’t tax things in the bill of rights. If you think this is a good idea, attach this bill to a $200 "mail in ballot" tax. Or how about a $200 “protest” tax? Hey--maybe we can throw in a---$200 "abortion tax"? Now do you understand?

It’s quite clear what they are up to—they pretty much have come right out and admitted it. Once this gun tax is there, it’s just a matter of how high you set the tax to effectively end the right to own a gun for most Americans. Odd we would look at such a law in a period when police forces have been ordered not to attempt to save people or property from harm in many areas.
