Big 10 ccg rules

Really makes little sense to me that the team with a better record gets knocked out by head to head. If one team is 6-1 and lost to a team that is 5-1, the 5-1 team advances. What is Ohio St. was the one team they missed on their schedule?

If the teams didn't play and one is 7-1 and the other 6-1 you go to tiebreaker!
